X-RAY Caution
TUBE • Dangerous Voltage
• Do not use a BUCKY or a GRID during this
COLLIMATOR procedure.
LIGHT
• The exposure to air kerma conversion factor is 8.76
microGy per mR.
• 100 mR corresponds to 100 x 8.76 = 876 microGy
or 0.876 mGy.
[1] Move the X-RAY TUBE to 180 cm (72.0 in.) above
the floor.

[2] Ask the RT to energize the X-ray equipment and
the COLLIMATOR LIGHT on the X-RAY TUBE.
[3] Place the CASSETTE on the floor under the beam
of light.
[4] Align the beam of light with a 5.0 cm (2.0 in.) area
of light on the floor around the CASSETTE.

You must place the tape correctly.
[5] Place the tape on the floor around the edges of
the beam of light.
[6] Use tape to fasten the COPPER and ALUMINUM
FILTERS TL-5259 to each other.
X-RAY TUBE
Important
The COPPER FILTER must be directly next to the X-
RAY TUBE.
[7] Insert both of the FILTERS into the bottom of the

A LEAD SHEET and the help of a RT is necessary for
DOSIMETER
this procedure.
[8] Use the following values for the first set up of the
X-ray equipment:
• 80 kVp - ± 1
• 80 mAs
[9] Remove the CASSETTE from the floor.
Important
You must use a LEAD SHEET or a LEAD APRON under the DOSIMETER. If a LEAD SHEET or a LEAD APRON is
not used, the values on the DOSIMETER will be false by a maximum of 20%.

[1] From the Main Menu, touch:
• [Service Functions]
• [Diagnostics]
• [View Collector Profiles]
[2] Select the 35 x 43 cm CASSETTE.
Important
“SPIKES” might be the result of dust in the COLLECTOR or the illumination of the laser beam on the COLLECTOR.

Calibration for the CR SYSTEMS
Important
• The CHEST WALL edge of the CASSETTE must
be 5.1 cm (2.0 in.) off the edge of the PATIENT
SUPPORT.
TUBE • Some systems have a RAISED EDGE at the TUBE
SIDE side.
• If your system has a RAISED EDGE, the
2 L-BRACKETS CASSETTE and the 2 L-BRACKETS cannot be
placed more than 5.1 cm (2.0 in.) off the edge
PATIENT
SUPPORT • Do not place the CASSETTE or the
2 L-BRACKETS on the raised edge.
Important
• After exposing the CASSETTE, you must wait 5
minutes before starting this procedure.
• Every minute that you wait beyond 5 causes the
exposure index value to decrease by 5.
[5] Wait 5 minutes from the time of exposure of the
first CASSETTE.
