MKSV Simulation Instructions

This is an individual exercise and you will not be directly competing with others in your cohort
during the simulation.

• To start the simulation, go to www.precisedonline.com

• Login using your user id and password
• You will be asked to change your password to proceed. Please don’t change your user id
because it identifies you with your ISB cohort.
• Purchase VB-Service: Video Course from the list of courses in the left navigation panel.
You will be able to participate only in this simulation and the grades will be transmitted to
me only if you choose the correct simulation.
• You don't need to run the entire simulation in one sitting and can log off from time to
time. Every time you log back in, the simulation will resume from the place you left off in
the previous session.
• The simulation only moves forward, and you cannot go back and change your answers or
choices that you made previously

The simulation is divided into 2 phases

1. In the first phase you will be able to read the necessary learning concepts (LC) and will be
quizzed on your competence based on Test Your Knowledge (TYK) questions
2. In the second phase, you will run a small service business over 12 months. Each month,
you will be required to make specific decisions about the business (DMQ). These decisions
will keep on changing as you proceed.
3. At the end of each month, you will be provided information about the financial
performance of your business. You may use this information for your future decisions

The simulation varies somewhat from one student to another

1. It grades the performance of the student using three equally weighted criteria, (1) The
answers to the TYK questions, (2) The quality of the decisions (DMQ), and (3) the business
performance.
2. For each cohort, the simulation will generate a class rank for each of the three criteria and
will then average them out for an overall class rank per section.
3. The instructor will then use the overall class rank for assigning the grade for the simulation.

The time to complete all phases of the simulation varies across students depending on how much
effort they put in. But, based on past implementations, most students are able to complete it in 8-
10 hours although the variance tends to be quite high.
