TOPIC: More and more people are suffering from health problems caused by

a modern life style which can not be treated with modern medicines. Some
people think that a return to traditional medicine could solve . Discuss both
sides and give your own opinion.

The modern era has advanced greatly and brought forth many conveniences, but it
has also resulted in a host of new health issues. A lifestyle disease is a condition
associated with the way an individual lives.Modern society has brought many
conveniences but also health problems. Lifestyle diseases, caused by unhealthy
habits, include cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. In most cases, modern medicine
is unable to perform to a degree that provides lasting healing for these illnesses,
thus causing people to rely on the beneficial properties of traditional means. This
essay will consider underlying arguments on both sides of the spectrum to question
the efficacy of traditional medicine to tackle modern health challenges, all the
while laying my opinion on the line.

People seek methods from modern medicine, which is not particularly successful,
despite the alarming rate at which the frequency of lifestyle ailments is climbing.
The first reason for not using modern methods is that modern medicine typically
concentrates on treating symptoms rather than the underlying causes of problems
with lifestyle. While drugs may help lower blood pressure, cholesterol, or blood
sugar levels, they typically fail to tackle the true root causes of these illnesses and
stop the course of the illness or improve long-term health. Furthermore, depending
solely on modern treatments to manage symptoms may result in unfavorable side
effects and other chronic health problems. From little issues like headaches,
nausea, or dizziness to more significant ones like liver damage, renal failure, or
severe allergic responses. When modern drugs are used for an extended period of
time, they might cause additional chronic health issues, such as diarrhea or
irregular heartbeats from blood pressure meds. Therefore, seeking and
incorporating more comprehensive treatment approaches, including lifestyle
changes and traditional medicine, can be more effective in managing and treating
these chronic diseases.

Traditional medicine, also known as complementary and alternative medicine, is

the earliest form of healthcare, used for centuries to prevent and treat various
health conditions, influencing global healthcare systems. The World Health
Organization estimates that a significant global population still uses traditional
medicines for healthcare, with China's TCM industry accounting for one-third of
its pharmaceutical industry and Africa's 80% usage. One of the primary advantages
of traditional medicine lies in its holistic approach to healing.
Traditional medicine, recognizing the human body as a whole, values harmony and
balance. Unlike modern medicine, which often focuses solely on treating
symptoms, traditional healing practices address the root causes of illness by
restoring balance and harmony within the individual. Acupuncture, herbal
medicine, and yoga are examples of techniques that try to cure the root of sickness
as well as its symptoms by bringing the patient's body back into balance.
Acupuncture, for instance, is said to alleviate stress and enhance blood circulation,
whilst herbal medicines strengthen the immune system and facilitate digestion.
Moreover, by considering lifestyle, diet, emotional well-being, and environmental
factors, traditional medicine offers a comprehensive approach to health that
nurtures the whole person. In addition, an enormous number of natural cures made
from plants, herbs, minerals, and other organic sources are available in traditional
medicine. For thousands of years, these cures have been utilized to address a
variety of diseases and health issues. Traditional treatments are often seen to be
safer and kinder to the body than manufactured drugs, which may have
unfavorable consequences and contribute to reliance. Besides, many natural
remedies are readily available, affordable, and sustainable, making them accessible
to people of all walks of life.

In my opinion, the combination of the two medical systems can, produce the best
outcomes, even if modern medicine plays an indispensable and irreplaceable role.
In addition to assisting in the treatment of symptoms, utilizing a combination of
modern medications and traditional treatments promotes general health, wards off
illness, and raises life span. In the context of increasingly complex and diverse
health issues, combining the best of both worlds can be the optimal solution to
ensure health and happiness for everyone.
