God- Agni
This sūktha, also known as the Agni sūkta, contains nine mantras that are connected to the god Agni.
Agni is the most well-known god in Vedic hymns, along with Indra. The development of willpower,
which provides a hint of the higher realms, is the first phase in the yoga practised by the seers of the
Rig Veda. According to the Rig Veda, God Agni is the seer-will who ignites the flame of perfection in
the human seeker, includes material wealth and spiritual felicities, and leads them to the attainment
of utmost bliss.
I adore Agni, who leads the yajna, the God of yajna who has the ecstasy of truth. He, the
summoning priest and giver of happiness.
Agni, adored by the ancient seers is also adored by the new sages too.He brings the Gods to
earth.
By Agni one enjoys inner plenitude, that increases day by day.It is glorious and full of heroic
power which battles the assaults of ignorance.
O Agni, the yajna-pilgrimage ,that is surrounded by you on all sides that alone reaches the
Gods.
अग्निर्होता कविक्रतुः सत्यः चित्रश्रवस्तमः । देवो देवेभिः आगमत् ॥5॥
Agni, the summoning priest the seer-will, a God ,is the truth. He has the power of granting super-
normal powers of audition to the aspirant, may he come with the gods.
O Agni, the auspicious happiness you shall create for the giver, the one who makes offerings to
the yajna. That is the truth of you alone, O glowing.
O Agni, day by day, in the night and in the light, we approach you carrying our obeisance by
our thought.
Agni reigns over pilgrim-yajnas, he is the luminous guardian of truth. This power of manifestation
is increasing in his own house.
O Agni, as a father onto his son be of easy access to us. Cling to us so that we can maintain
our happy state.
