Bucket Truck Operator


JOB DESCRIPTION
The Bucket Truck Operator will perform the task of operating/controlling the aerial lift on the
truck to perform tasks in the line clearing, installation/removing cables. As time permits the
employee also performs a variety of simple yard, and light driving duties.

Reports Through: Foreman/Managing Director

Essential Functions

1) Assist in loading of vehicles with tools and equipment for mobilization to the work site.

2) Assist the crew in setting up equipment at the worksite.

3) Mechanically operate the bucket truck.

4) Performs line clearing, installing and removing cables from poles

5) Assist the work party in removal of all debris from worksite.

6) Assist in loading debris onto trucks or applicable vehicles for disposal.

7) Assist in loading of vehicles with tools and equipment upon completion of the job to
return to base office.

8) Inspects and services boom/bucket as needed and as capable to ensure safe


operations.

9) Participate in HSE drills.

10) Attend Toolbox talks.

11) Use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

12) Report all unsafe acts and conditions.

13) Stopping all unsafe work.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to comprehend, carry out and relay multiple verbal and written instructions.

Education & Experience

Applicable vocational and skills training based on area of expertise. At least (2) years of
experience within your area of expertise. Certification in bucket truck operations.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift heavy loads; usually between 50-75 pounds (Ibs), tools, equipment; and travel long
distances etc.

Working Conditions

This position requires work in a construction environment, work on trucks, long work days,
travelling long distances and sitting for long times in a truck on the roadways.
