Money is not necessarily related to happiness but income equality leads to increased
trust, which leads to more happiness
Nordic countries are generally wealthier

TRUST AND BENEVOLENCE

Trust and benevolence in the government causes improved mood and wellbeing
People are likely to believe their lost wallet will be returned

GOVERNMENT

Low corruption
Free healthcare and education, good pensions
Tax funds public health care and education
freedom to make life choices
State generosity has a positive impact on wellbeing and life satisfaction

EQUALITY

Ethnically diverse, not that homogenous

Most people are equally happy (quite happy)

WEATHER

Lots of cold weather and storms

but people adapt to it so it doesn’t affect their happiness

Suicide

The happiness and factors of happiness do not correlate with suicide rates
So there are still high suicide rates
However other things like culture religion and divorce play a role in suicide
