Scope and General Information

This Kingfisher Product Requirements Specification (PRS) applies to the following product types:
• Glazed/Unglazed Ceramic, Fibre Clay, Lightweight Concrete and Terracotta Outdoor Pots

Out of scope:
• Indoor Pots

Supplier’s Responsibilities
• Ensure products meet the specific product requirements applicable to each product, including country specific
requirements.
• Ensure that all additional performance, quality and construction requirements are met.
• Ensure that products are tested to the most up to date versions of the legal standards.
• Maintain appropriate quality control records and traceability during production.
• Ensure sources of raw materials are monitored and controlled to ensure continued compliance during continuous and
repeat production runs.
• If you are uncertain of which requirements to apply to your product, please contact your Sourcing Quality Manager in
the first instance. If your product does not have a specific Kingfisher Product Standard, you will be advised which
requirements, from the most relevant document, must be applied.

Minimum Requirements
• These are minimum requirements. Additional requirements may be requested by the Quality function and shared with
you via your Sourcing Quality Manager during product review stages.
• Important: supplier must ensure that the most up to date regulations/directives/standards are followed in all cases
• Country specific requirements are minimum requirements for all products being supplied to those countries.

Brand Quality Standards

• Different performance requirements may apply depending on the Kingfisher OEB brand your product is being selected
for and this information will be available in the briefing document. If you are unsure into which Kingfisher OEB brand
your product falls, please contact your Sourcing Quality Manager

Kingfisher Policies
All products must meet the requirements of Kingfisher’s policies as follows:
• Wood & Paper
• Restricted Substances
• Cotton
• Sustainable Home Products Guidelines

Documentary evidence of compliance will be required as part of the technical file.

1. Minimum Requirements:
Important: supplier must ensure that the most up to date regulations/directives/standards are followed and tested in all cases.
All relevant national deviations to published standards must be followed.
It is the supplier’s responsibility to ensure that all products supplied to Kingfisher comply with the legal requirements in the
countries in which they will be sold.
The list below constitutes the minimum testing required. Additional testing may be requested following product risk
assessment.

Products must be tested at a test laboratory agreed with Kingfisher. For information on Kingfisher test laboratory partners,
please check with your Quality contact.

Where indicated below samples may be used to represent a range/group of products. Representative samples must be agreed
with your Sourcing Quality contact and:
- be of the same quality
- produced in the same factory
- produced using the same production method
- produced from the same quality raw materials from the same source as the items they are representing.

3. Construction & Functionality

Requirements

All edges and seams should be well finished and smooth. No sharp edges or breaks in the material
Appearance should be seen or felt. Drainage holes and, where applicable, channels should be present on the
bottom of the pot (not applicable for saucers)

Design All design aspects such as branding, colours, compartments etc will be supplied by the Range Team.

Where possible plastic should be made of 100% recycled material. Further details on this should be

6. Product Labelling & Marking Requirements
These are product labelling and marking requirements only. These details are not exhaustive and other labelling requirements
may apply.
It is the supplier’s responsibility to ensure all Kingfisher Branded products are labelled or marked in accordance with the legal
requirements and any applicable safety standards for the countries into which they are sold.
