HEY FRIEND!

Easter is a time filled with lots of joy and celebration,

THIS BOOK BELONGS TO:
but to get to the exciting part of the story—Jesus
leaving His tomb and going to heaven—we have to walk
through the hard things first. Jesus' story is told in
the Bible by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They each
share why we should be a friend of Jesus and trust in
Him. They show us that Jesus did things that no one
else can do and that He always keeps His promise. As
we journey to Easter, our friend Jubilee the mouse will
be there to guide us every step of the way! Color along
and bring the story to life. We pray that this would be a
time to learn more about Jesus and learn how you can
share His story in your own words, just like Matthew,
Mark, Luke, and John did.
MEET JUBILEE! MEET THE BOYS!
This is Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John! They each wrote a book
of the Bible. Their books make up a section of the Bible that we
call the Gospels. The Gospels show us different things about Jesus

MARK . MARK . MARK . MARK . MARK . MARK . MARK
HI! I'M MARK.
I was a young boy when I first met Jesus so I wasn’t a disciple like Matthew.
My age didn’t stop me from looking up to Jesus though! Do you have
someone in your life you look up to? That means you want to be more like
that person, and you love to be around them.
Growing up, I listened to Jesus’ teachings and even watched Him perform
miracles! Fun fact about me, I was always on the go! I paid a lot of
attention to people’s actions. I even said the word “immediately” 41 times in
my book because there was no time to waste. I wrote so much about Jesus’
miracles. I share 18 miracles in my book (and my book is only 16 chapters
long). I talk a lot more about miracles than the other guys did.
When I started writing about Jesus, I spent less time sharing about His
birth and childhood. I wanted to jump right into what Jesus did as an
adult and let people see that Jesus was a servant. That means He
took care of others and lent a helping hand! Jesus even washed
the feet of His friends at the Last Supper (Stinky feet… can you
imagine?! And we didn’t even have shoes, only sandals. So our
feet got really, really dirty! That’s why this was an extra nice thing
to do). He wanted to show them that if He could serve them,
they could help others! When we follow Him, that’s what we should
do too. One really important thing I want you to remember in my
book is to feel brave and share Jesus’ story with others who are
different from you so they can see His love too!

LUKE . LUKE . LUKE . LUKE . LUKE . LUKE . LUKE
HI! I'M LUKE.
Unlike the rest of these guys, I never met Jesus or spent time with Him while He
and His disciples were together sharing about God. I didn’t even learn about Him until
after Easter! I was a doctor and I wrote the longest book in the gospels. I tried to
share every detail I knew. I didn’t want to miss one thing. If I never met Him face
to face, you might be wondering how I had so much to share about Him? The answer
is I did my research!
It can be hard to believe in something or someone you have never met, so I talked
with people who knew Jesus, heard His teachings, or saw Him perform miracles. Then
I took all of their stories and put them into my book. Before it was a book in the
Bible, it was just a letter to my friend, Theophilus. I know, it’s kind of a funny name!
Theophilius was getting kind of stuck, he was having a hard time believing in God, so I
wrote him this letter to try to help him grow in his faith and grow closer to God. What
is something you would want to share with your friends about Jesus?
I wrote another letter to my friend–it’s now the book of Acts–and that one showed us
that even though Jesus died and rose again, God was still
doing awesome things. When Jesus did the scariest
and hardest thing by dying on the cross for us,
He gave us the greatest gift, the Holy Spirit! I
think my words can be a reminder that what
Jesus did was a gift that everyone gets
to receive. I got to make a difference
in my friend’s life, and you can do that
too, it just takes telling one person the
story of Jesus.

JOHN . JOHN . JOHN . JOHN . JOHN . JOHN . JOHN
HEY, IT'S ME, JOHN!
I used to be a fisherman, but all that changed when I met Jesus! Like Matthew, I was a
disciple, but even more, I was Jesus’ best friend. I got to be a part of Jesus’ life, see Him
perform miracles, listen to His teachings, and travel with Him. I even wrote five different
books in the Bible; that’s a lot of writing! I wrote John, 1st John, 2nd John, 3rd John, and
Revelation. All of my books started as letters to my churches in other countries!
In my letters, I shared about the things I had seen, but if I wrote about every wonderful
thing Jesus did, I would have run out of paper! I encouraged people that even when it’s hard
to follow Jesus, it’s worth it, and it matters. The day Jesus died was really scary, I had lost
my best friend. But then He rose from the dead and it was amazing! He did just what He
said He would! He left the tomb and showed us that He can do things that no one else can.
Jesus is the greatest friend, and I hope you think so too. What do you think makes someone
a good friend? I was lucky to tell people all over the world about Jesus because when you
see something amazing, you want to share about it! When you think of Easter, I want you
to know that Jesus keeps His promise, and has the victory over the bad things that happen.
That’s good news we want the whole world to hear!
