What are factors that affect recovery from NMBD

Initial Dose
-greater dose, the longer recovery
Metabolism
-aminosteroids minimally metabolised in liverm=,excreted in bile and urine
-liver and renal impairment –accumulation of drugs and therefore prolonged the effects
Drug interaction
Administration of “reversal agents”
-neostigmine (anticholinesterase-the only drug available to reverse NDMR)
-it will increase the amount of AcH
-sugammadex (modified gamma cyclodextrin-reversal of esmeron and vecuronium)
-it will encapsulate the drugs and remove/eliminate
