CLASS X ASSIGNMENT Subject: Mathematics
1.The product of two numbers a and b is 1152 and HCF of a and b is12 then LCM of a and b is
(a ) 88 (b) 90 (c) 92 (d) 96
2. If one root of the equation 2x²-10x+p=0 is 2 then the value of p is:
(a) 3 (b) 6 (c) 9 (d) 12
3. Graphically the pair of equations 6x-3y+10=0; 2x-y+9=0 represents two lines which are:
(a) intersecting at one point (b) parallel (c) coincident (d) intersecting at two points
4. The probability of getting a bad egg in a lot of 400 is 0.035 The number of bad egg is:
(a) 7 (b) 14 (c) 21 (d) 28
5.If two zeroes of a quadratic polynomial are 5-3√2 and 5+3√2 then the quadratic
polynomial is
(a ) x²-10x-7 (b) x²-10x+6 (c) x²-10x+14 (d) x²-10x+7
Directions: In the following questions, a statement of assertion (A) is followed by a statement
of reason (R). Mark the correct choice as:
(a) Both assertion (A) and reason (R) are true and reason (R) is the correct explanation of
assertion (A).
(b) Both assertion (A) and reason (R) are true but reason (R) is not the correct explanation of
assertion (A).
(c) Assertion (A) is true but reason (R) is false.
(d) Assertion (A) is false but reason (R) is true.
6. Assertion :100 can be expressed as a product of primes.
Reason: 100 is a composite number.
7.Assertion: Degree of zero polynomial is not defined
Reason: Degree of a nonzero constant polynomial is 0
8. Assertion: If a pair of lines are coincident then we say that the pair is consistent and it has
a unique solution.
Reason: If a pair of lines are parallel then the pair has no solution and is called
inconsistent pair of equations.
9. Assertion: If the roots of the equation (2k-1) x²+4x-3=0 are reciprocal of each other, then b
k=-1
Reason: If a=c then roots of ax²+bx+c=0 are reciprocal of each other.
10. Assertion: When a die is rolled, the probability of getting a number which is multiple of 3
and 5 both is zero.
Reason: The probability of an impossible event is zero.

11.Ruby and Rita are playing a game of ludo with 2 dice
(i) To win a game Ruby wanted a total of 7. What is the probability of winning a game by Ruby?
(ii)Find the probability that 5 will come up at least in one die.
(iii) What is the probability that the sum of numbers on the both the dice is divisible by 4 or 6?

12. Nisha and Kanika are very close friends .Nisha owns a Honda City and Kanika
owns Toyota Corolla. They go for a picnic by their cars.Kanika’s car travels at x km/hr while
Nisha’s car travels at 5km/hr more than Kanikas car.Nisha’s car takes1 hr less than Kanika’s
car in covering 360km.
