Suggested materials
- Yarn: 1000m fingering weight (I used Scheepjes Whirl)
- Hook: 3-3,5 mm hook depending on your tension. You will need a fairly tight tension to
achieve a clear definition in the pattern.
a solid block = 4 dc
an open block = 1 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc
Note: the fourth dc of a block is the first dc of the next block. =
1. Begin each new row by ch 3. This counts as the first dc of that block. (This method tends
to leave a small gap between the ch3 and the next dc. An alternative is to begin the new
row by working 1 ch and then 1 dc in the same stitch.)
2. The pattern is worked back and forth from the bottom up.
- Grid A = Rows 1-13.
- Grid B = Rows 14 to 57. Repeat this main pattern until you reach the desired length.
- Grid C = The final top rows.

Instructions
To begin: Make a foundation chain of 94. Ch 3 (= first dc of row 1) and turn.
Row 1: 1 dc in 5th ch from hook (= second dc of row 1). 1 dc in each stitch to the end of the
row. (94 dcs)
Rows 2 and forward: Start by following grid A. Continue with grid B and repeat three times
(or more for a longer wrap). Finish the wrap with grid C.
