This wrap is made using the filet crochet

technique. If you are new to working with filet
crochet grids please carefully read “Reading the
grid”. There are also excellent tutorials on the
web.

Suggested materials
- Yarn: 1000m fingering weight (I used Scheepjes Whirl)
- Hook: 3-3,5 mm hook depending on your tension. You will need a fairly tight tension to
achieve a clear definition in the pattern.

Size after blocking

1000m of Scheepjes Whirl is sufficient for three repeats of the main pattern, making the scarf approx
150cm x 38cm after blocking.
I added another 30g of a leftover Whirl and was able to add an extra repeat, making it 185cm long.
You can easily repeat or omit parts of this pattern to achieve your desired length.

Standard US Crochet terms:

ch = chain
dc = double crochet

Reading the grid

a solid block  = 4 dc
an open block  = 1 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc

Note: the fourth dc of a block is the first dc of the next block.  =

1. Begin each new row by ch 3. This counts as the first dc of that block. (This method tends
to leave a small gap between the ch3 and the next dc. An alternative is to begin the new
row by working 1 ch and then 1 dc in the same stitch.)

2. The pattern is worked back and forth from the bottom up.
- Grid A = Rows 1-13.
- Grid B = Rows 14 to 57. Repeat this main pattern until you reach the desired length.
- Grid C = The final top rows.

Instructions
To begin: Make a foundation chain of 94. Ch 3 (= first dc of row 1) and turn.
Row 1: 1 dc in 5th ch from hook (= second dc of row 1). 1 dc in each stitch to the end of the
row. (94 dcs)
Rows 2 and forward: Start by following grid A. Continue with grid B and repeat three times
(or more for a longer wrap). Finish the wrap with grid C.
