This is little Red Riding Hood. She is taking cakes to Granny, who is ill. Granny lives in the
middle of a big wood. Little Red Riding Hood sets off with her basket. “Don’t talk to
strangers!” calls her mother.
In the woods, there’s a wolf. “Where are you going, little girl? He asks. “To Granny’s house,”
replies Little Red Riding Hood. “Grannies are tasty,’ thinks the wolf. He dashes off to the house
before Little Red Riding Hood.
At Granny’s house, the wolf hears Little Red Riding Hood coming. He locks Granny in a
cupboard. He puts on her glasses and her night cap, the jumps into her bed. There’s a tapping
at the door. “Come in, “says the wolf.
“Granny, what big eyes you have,” says Little Red Riding Hood. “All the better to see you
with,” says the wolf. “What big ears you have.” “ All the better to hear you with.” “ What big
teeth you have!” “All the better to EAT you with!”
The wolf leaps out of bed. “Help!” cries Little Red Riding Hood. Outside, a woodcutter hears
her shouting. He bursts into the cottage with his axe. The wolf sees the axe and runs away
howling. “Awoo!”
Little Red Riding Hood let’s Granny out of the cupboard. She thanks the woodcutter and
everyone has cupcakes. “I’ll never talk to strangers again,” she says. As for the big, bad wolf,
he is never seen again. Or is he?
