question 1: how is pn-junction is formed?
Answer 1: The PN junction forms when a P-type semiconductor is connected with an N-type
semiconductor. In the P-type semiconductor, there are more holes than in the intrinsic
semiconductor, while in the N-type semiconductor, there are more free electrons than in the
intrinsic semiconductor. This difference in doping creates a depletion region between the two
semiconductors. The depletion region restricts current flow, depending on the potential
difference across the terminals of the P-type semiconductor and the N-type semiconductor.
Question 2: Connect the circuit shown in figure (1) in Multisim or Pspice using D1N4148 diode,
then adjust the supply voltage E so that the voltage VR (not E) increase from 0.2V to 20V, and for
each value of VR measure VD and ID , and fill in the Table (1).

Answer 2:

VR(V) 0.2 0.4 0.6 0.8 1 2 3 4 5 6 8 10
