Methodology / Procedure adopted for writing the report

Methodology is a set of activities or principles which are essential for managing or completing a
project. The methodology is decided on the basis of how the researcher works and
communicates.

Project Framework

This research report starts with simple information and background about the online thrift store
that will keep the lifestyle alive by helping the lower income families and the data has been
collected through the sources which are being analyzed and finally the conclusion and action
implication are provided. After the research, the researcher has studied the subject of research in
detail and has explained the facts and characteristics related to research problem.

Data and information

All the data’s were collected via survey to see if the scale could be used to segment the market
and access the difference in the demographics and shopping patterns. The sources through which
data was collected have proved to be fruitful and reliable for the researcher in order to analyze it
and reach conclusion.

Tools used

The different tools used for the collection of primary data were questionnaire, personal
interview, and observation. The tool used for the collection of secondary data was the Internet.
The tools used for the analysis for the collected data were pie chart and bar graph.

Techniques of Project Report Analysis


The first technique which the researcher has used is SWOT analysis. It is a technique for
accessing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of a particular business. The
researcher of this project has identified strengths and weaknesses of THRIFTS STORE in order
to capitalize the opportunities and overcome the threats which may emerge in thrifting industry
of Nepal. The second technique which the researcher has used is competitive analysis. It is a
technique in which the major competitors of the industry are identified and research is done on
competitors’ products, sales and marketing strategies. The researcher of this project has made
research on the ways in which the competitors attract and retain customers.
