Integration

of
computers

Introduction:
Today’s society is in the fourth industrial revolution. Industry 4.0 is marked by integrating advanced
technologies like AI and robotics into the industry and everyday life. In a world where more and more AI
is being built, everyone needs some form of computer skill. From as little as knowing how to send a text
to as much as learning how to program their own AI. The 21st century, especially us future leaders, need
this skill.
Idea:
The implementation of Computers in a school whether it be in each high school grade or in the school’s
library under proper care and maintenance.

 Computers in every class or library:

o Each learner could get their designated time with the computer to improve their digital
literacy skills.
o The computers will be installed with free learning platforms and access to online and
offline courses, including sources such as YouTube.
o With this we can still integrate a Google Drive or a Google classroom mention or even
continue with a website.

Now I know you all thinking “Eh Sam money from where”. Wellllll
Sponsors:

 Same Foundation: This is a foundation based on bringing STEM (science, technology,

engineering, maths) to underprivileged South African schools.
 Computer Lab SA: This initiative refurbishes donated computers and sets up computer labs in
schools across South Africa. They collect used technology from businesses and individuals,
refurbish it, and install it in classrooms to support computer learning (Computer Lab).
 CoZa Cares Foundation: They focus on integrating technology into education by providing
digital resources, training teachers, and supporting school digital literacy programs. Their goal is
to bridge the digital divide in South African education (Adopt-a-School Foundation).

Now for problems. I thought of solutions.

Loadshedding enemy number 1: During the day laptops will be charged so that during load-shedding
times they are charged but if a laptop still runs out of power, we can use Laptop sufficient power banks
Internet access: I have come up with a solution for creating a website that doesn’t have to run on the
internet but just by the movement of folders from devices
Here is an example of what I've made that the website could look like:
(This is not at all finished actually very very very far, it is just a demo)
This can be transported using USB drives which do not require internet

Learner time with device: To give everyone a chance we could implement group learning that way a
sufficient amount of people get to use the laptop within a week and it will also develop communication
skills and work with co-workers

Another Idea that can go with this is AI implementation

Although this does require the internet, we can use poe.com which is a website that allows you to make
your own AI bot. It works by having us, the users, plug in different information about a specific topic we
want that bot to do. For example, if this bot is meant for accounting we would feed the bot any and every
necessary information for the grade the bot will be for.
