3. FORESEEABLE EVOLUTION OF THE PROFESSION.

The health sector institutionally is made up of the Ministry of Health – ESSALUD, Health of the
Armed Forces and the National Police and Private Institutions. The current coverage that these
institutions have is 70% of the population, with a percentage concentrated in the low-income
population that does not receive care. Faced with this situation, programs and projects are
being developed to address the problem that affects this population group.

In recent years, the sector has experienced growth, supported by the significant increase in
private institutions, mainly due to the establishment of a financing mechanism for the service
offered by these entities. The government, as part of its development policy, is modernizing the
sector, promoting private investment as a complement to public entities that provide health
services. Likewise, it has been prioritizing primary health care, executing preventive
promotional programs of national scope. Given this process of change and modernization, the
qualification of human resources is necessary. The training of health technicians should be
aimed at supporting health promotion and prevention actions and the application of care
techniques in the recovery and rehabilitation of the user, complemented by the application of
biosafety standards in health care.

The nursing technician can work in any private or public company or institution, as an assistant
to any health professional; You can also serve as a community health promoter and/or
