LET'S EXPLORE
The WORD program is a powerful Spanish word processor, developed specifically to run under
Microsoft Windows. Consequently, it has a marked graphic tendency and this is manifested in
the design of the screens, in the dialog boxes and in the way of choosing a specific activity
within them through the use of icons. Basically, a word processor is a program that allows us to
write, and then make all the necessary modifications to be able to print it.

 Name five uses of Word.

CONCEPTUALIZATION

Word Features:

 It is a word processor, which makes it better than a text editor. A text editor is
limited to being able to type text, correct it, and perhaps print it.
 A word processor includes other features such as margins, sheet size and
format, page numbering, header and footer.
 You can apply different fonts throughout the document, and even effects to the
fonts, such as bold, italics, underlining, color to the letters, etc.
 It has a spelling and syntax checker.
 You can insert images anywhere in the document, which is known as auto
editing
 You can create documents in columns, newspaper type, automatically with a
few clicks
 There is a table option, which makes it easier to create tabular tables, formats,
forms, etc.
 You can also merge mail, that is, you make a letter and you can provide Word
with a list of people and it itself is responsible for generating a letter for each
person, with the same text
 And it also has a preview that gives you an idea of how it will look printed.

INDIVIDUAL WORK
 Open Word and type your name 10 times (each name should appear on a
separate line). Each time you have to select one of the names and give it the
format indicated, taking into account that the font type cannot be repeated:

1. Bold and underlined.


2. Red, raised and bold color.
3. Green color, extended space 5 points.
4. Black color, row of red ants.
5. Light blue, double underlined in dark blue.
6. Red, underlined in black in double zig-zag.
7. Bold, shadow, capital letters, compressed in 5 points.
8. Normal first name and last name in superscript.
9. Choose the format yourself.
10. Choose the format yourself.

 Below is a short text. Type it using the keyboard in a new Word document, and
then format it as follows:

• Write in Tahoma font, size 12.


• Bold the phrase “Young girls do not seek a degree for distraction.”
• Italicize the word “equality.”
• Underline the phrase “the equality achieved is quite satisfactory”
• Copy the phrase “The 21st century will be the century of women” and paste it
over the text
as title.
• Then change the title to a font you like, size 14, bold and
underlined.
• Save, finally,

It has constituted the greatest revolution of the century that is now ending. The
parity between
man and woman is a reality in many areas. There are as many university students
as
university students. Young women do not seek a degree to have fun or do
