DEFICIENCIES IN THE PRODUCTION INDUSTRY

CONSTRUCTION IN PERU

In the world of construction, currently, we have been collecting a wide variety of deficiencies,
obtaining as a result some distortions in the management variables of various projects, which is why
it has been considered convenient to determine or identify the main deficiencies that arise. present in
the construction industry.

In our country, Peru, there is a very strong increase in the construction industry, as a result of this it
is necessary to have a fairly efficient system of control and effectiveness in projects and thus reduce
the excessive expenditure of resources.

Next, we will present and show a sequence to identify deficiencies in the construction industry:

 Brainstorming
 A list of possible problems

- In the company
- In the environment
- In human resources
BRAINSTORM - In the risks of a project
- In the environment
- In the logistical aspect
- In the control of a project

LIST OF POSSIBLE PROBLEMS

 IN THE COMPANY
o Not constituted
o Banned from practicing, due to sanctions by the OSCE
o They do not have capital to support the execution of the work
o They do not have good conflict resolution

 IN THE ENVIRONMENT
o Security (Extortion)
o Safety equipment
o Municipality Management
o Social Security
o Management with communities

 IN HUMAN RESOURCES
o Pay
o Training
o emotional aspect
o Communication
o Motivation
o Knowledge
o Skills
o Behaviors

o Experiences
o Values

 PROJECT RISK
o IENC
o Lack of qualified personnel due to high market demand
o Occupational health and safety plan (insurance or reinsurance company)

 IN THE ENVIRONMENT
o Disinterest in environmental conservation
o No respect for damage to third party property

 ON THE LOGISTICAL ASPECT

o Technology
o Catering
o Specialized advice
o Arbitration disputes
o Payment problems to complete the works
o Management inefficiency

 IN THE ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL ASPECTS

o Accounting and Finance
o Capital
o finance letters
o Abuse workers with late payments

 IN THE CONTROL OF A PROJECT

o Resource availability
o Production (depending on the engineer's experience)
o Products
o Coordination
o Quality and laboratory
o Blueprints
o Resistance calculation
o Valuations
o Staff Administration
o Warehouse management
o Contract administration

INTERNAL PROBLEMS

 HUMAN RESOURCES
o Unskilled labor
o Report of accidents and occupational diseases
o Limited learning curve, due to the continuous mobilization of personnel.
UPAO PRODUCT. AND QUALITY. IN THE
CONSTRUCTION

 RISKS
o Falls of material from a certain height: transported materials, projected materials.
o Contact accidents: with sharp objects, with tools with electrical conduits, with circular
saws, wounds from nails.
o Overexertion due to: Incorrect position when lifting certain loads, excess material when
loading.
o Entrapment by: Pulley-belt transmission machinery, landslides.

 COMMUNICATIONS
o Difficulty in transporting construction material and communication routes.
o Lack of dialogue between the Resident Engineer (Construction Manager) and the
workers for the execution of the work.
o Inform or give safety talks about the measures to be taken on a construction site.

 SUPPLY AND PROCUREMENTS

o Supply drawbacks.
o Problems with equipment, machinery, tools, etc.

 PLANNING AND DESIGN

o Modifications during execution.
o Disadvantages with the design.
o Lack of detailed engineering.
o Re – work (Re – done jobs)
o Difficulties with previous studies (topography, layout, soil study, etc.)
o Lack of labor inspection.
o Distrust of innovative ideas (Development of virtual prototypes for design,
manufacturing and construction)

EXTERNAL PROBLEMS

 SECURITY
o Accidents in continuous work.
o Protection of jobs with risk of falls
o Poor storage and handling of construction materials.
o Extortion and robbery of buildings.

 ENVIRONMENT
o Problems with the natural environment and climate. Construction companies do not
anticipate the climatic changes that may occur on the construction site.
o Complications with the terrain to be worked (water table, large unevenness,
accessibility)
o Sensitivity to climate and natural environment, because much of the work is carried out
outdoors.

 CLAIMS
o Obstruction in the execution of construction projects.
o Requirements of the community and/or locality.
o Temporary or permanent disabilities.

 FINANCIAL
o Financing difficulties for new companies.
UPAO PRODUCT. AND QUALITY. IN THE
CONSTRUCTION

o Non-compliance.
o Fraud within shareholders.

 LEGALITY
o Problems with permits.
o Legal problems (expropriations, permit, etc.)
o Deficiencies in the contracting system with the State.
o Limitations on existing contracts required for the construction industry.
o Standards with old parameters that limit the design or make it unsafe.

MORE SERIOUS DEFICIENCIES

 Financing inefficiencies and difficulties, non-compliance and fraud.

 Some legal problems (expropriations, permit, etc.)
 Unskilled labor.
 Standards with old parameters that limit the design or are unsafe.
 Accidents in the job.
 Extortion and robbery in buildings.
 Difficulties in the transportation of construction material.
 Problems with the natural environment and climate. Consequently, some construction
companies do not anticipate the climatic changes that may occur and occur.

CONCLUSIONS:
UPAO PRODUCT. AND QUALITY. IN THE
CONSTRUCTION

 The main objective of construction companies is continuous improvement in all aspects,

the satisfaction of employees, workers and customers, cost reduction, quality and
productivity levels, delivery times, reduction in accident rates, as well as the reduction of
the design and planning period of works, quality work and this is achieved with an efficient
and effective progress of work, which is harmed by differences in coordination in human
resources at the operational level.

 The causes due to the affected raw materials are related to the fact that the construction
materials are of good quality and poor quality, both are used, the suppliers do not deliver
the materials on the established date and the transportation for construction materials is
rented.

 The causes due to the company's machinery face two problems, one is that part of the
company's machinery is rented and therefore is not always available and the tools are not
always available for all crews.

 The causes are due to human resources, the company's personnel are not satisfied with
their salary, they do not comply with the salary curve, they are unaware of the business
objectives and they are not warned about climatic changes.

 Training staff is very important since it is an investment for the company, so it is

recommended that management train with interactive courses so that workers do not
become upset since the workers in this area are special people who must be given special
treatment.

 Workers work with all their capacity when they have good remuneration, it is a form of
motivation, workers cannot work in poor weather conditions.
