WORK PLAN FOR THE 2018 COMMUNICATION AND MATHEMATICS

COMPETITION

I. INFORMATIVE DATA:

II. JUSTIFICATION:

Like every year in the month of July for the anniversary of the SAN ESTEBAN
Educational Institution, the so-called knowledge contests are held in the areas
of COMMUNICATION (reading comprehension) and MATHEMATICS, at the
secondary level. In order to evaluate the skills acquired by the students during
the first two months. The purpose of this contest is to promote competitiveness
in the aforementioned areas, in this way you can appreciate the academic level
currently acquired by the students.
Likewise, this activity is part of the program of activities of the Annual
Curriculum Plans for COMMUNICATION and MATHEMATICS, respectively at
the secondary level, on the occasion of the 54th Anniversary of the IE SAN
ESTEBAN.
III. GOALS:

III.1. Promote academic competence in the area of knowledge in the areas

of Communication and Mathematics.
III.2. Demonstrate cognitive abilities of the various contents developed in
the I Bimester in the areas of Communication (reading
comprehension) and Mathematics.
III.3. Recognize the winning students of the internal event that has an
impact on the institutional image of the EI

IV. PARTICIPANTS:

IV.1. Students from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th of the IE at the secondary
level participate.
IV.2. Participation is mandatory in all secondary school grades.
IV.3. The organizing teachers will plan and execute the various actions
required by the development of the contest; with the teaching staff of
the secondary level of the EI.
V. COMPETITION PROCESS
V.1. All IE students will automatically participate in the knowledge contest.
V.2. The contest will take place on Monday, 07-02-2018 in their respective
classrooms, at 9:00 am with the assistance of the teachers of the
Communication and Mathematics specialties, with the support of the
secondary level teachers, according to their schedule, in the
classrooms.
V.3. The contest will end at 10:30 am in all grades of the Secondary level,
with the support of the teachers who are responsible for maintaining
order and discipline according to their schedule; who will deliver the
answer sheets to the organizing teachers.
V.4. The organizing teachers will later review the answer sheets, for the
publication of the respective answers, as soon as possible.
VI. TOPICS:
The topics or contents to be evaluated will be all those that have been
developed during the first two months, by the areas of Communication (reading
comprehension) and Mathematics at the secondary level.
VII. EVALUATING JURY:

VIII. AWARDS:
 First Place: Diploma.
 Second Place: Diploma.
IX. PROCEDURES:
 Participants will have 1 hour and 30 minutes to solve the objective
questions (10 on Communication and 10 on Mathematics), posed in the

knowledge contest, in the presence of secondary school teachers in their

various grades.
 Each participant must present themselves with their respective supplies.
 The student can have a grid sheet to be able to develop the exercises
proposed in the area of Mathematics.
 The answer sheet must not contain errors, stains or double answers,
which will be invalidated and will not have a score.
 Each participant solves their questions independently of the others.
Plagiarism and inappropriate comments are prohibited. Therefore, the
participating student will be immediately disqualified from the contest.
 The student only has to hand in the answer sheet, and the content
sheets of the contest questions, he must take with him.
X. ASSESSMENT:
 The grade will be twentieth.
The criteria to be evaluated will be:
a) Cleaning the answer sheets.
b) Coherence and clarity in your answers.
c) Behavior during the contest.
 In the event of a tie, the student who submitted the answer sheet first will
win, so the teacher in the classroom must record the time or order of
delivery of the answer sheets.
 The ruling of the Qualifying Jury is final.
XI. RESULTS:
The results will be published on Thursday 07-05-2018 during the central
ceremony for the 54th anniversary of the EI San Esteban.
