SECURITY PROTOCOL IN THE

SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION

The transport company is responsible for ensuring


that drivers comply with safety regulations such as:
Up-to-date documents.
General maintenance.
Road equipment and first aid kit.
Drivers must be trained in defensive driving, as well as
know how to react to emergency situations to provide
first aid.

 At dismissal time, no route will be able to move within the school until the
order coordinator.
The driver and the monitor must have telephone numbers and emergency
routes on hand.
The vehicle must remain closed at all times.
Use the available means of communication to inform the management of the
school and the company, the events that occurred.
The bus aisle must remain clean, without obstacles.
Students must comply with all the rules of the coexistence manual on the
school route.
Wait and coordinate school orders.
Before making any movement, the monitor must report the location of the
vehicle's doors and emergency exits. This security measure must be carried out
every Monday afternoon at the exit of the routes.
It is mandatory to use the Seat Belt.
The driver and the monitor are directly responsible for making decisions in
case of an emergency.

In case an emergency action occurs on the school route


such as:
Assault.
Following a suspicious vehicle.
Traffic accident or collision with another vehicle,
terrorism due to explosion.
Vehicle fire.
Earthquake.

The following security measures must be taken:


•If a threat of assault is identified, students must be alerted about the
dangerous situation (Initiation of the alarm).
•Keep calm and silence
•All students in assigned chairs must take the emergency position (head on
legs) and not sit up until the presented situation is over.
•The driver and the monitor must handle the situation by constantly talking
to the aggressor. Unity is strength, “Repeating several times: don't hurt us,
what do you need; Don't hurt us, please, what do you need?"
•In case of direct threat, driver, monitor, student, carry out psychological crisis
management by talking slowly with the aggressor.
•If kidnapping occurs, identify the physical characteristics of the
assailant(s), such as: age, height, physical context, hair, eyes, particular
signs, voice, accent, dress, others. Likewise, identify the mode of
transportation (vehicle, motorcycle, license plates).
•Inform the school and company.
TRACKING A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

 Inform the company and the school.


 Go immediately to the nearest security
unit such as: Police or Army Post
 Identify the suspicious vehicle by taking the
following information: license plate, make,
color.
CAR ACCIDENT

 Inform the company


 Identify if there are injuries
 The driver is the only one authorized to get out of the vehicle and
handle the accident situation.
 The monitor controls discipline inside the vehicle.
 No student should get out of the vehicle.
 In case of a serious mobility accident, wait for the relief bus
 In the event of a serious accident against the physical integrity of a
student, go immediately to the nearest health center, according to
instructions (Emergency Plan).

 If there are serious injuries, the monitor, driver and older
students help in the evacuation of the vehicle, and control
the transfer to the ambulance, taking note of the student's
name, license plate, and hospital, clinic or place where
they are transferred.
 If there are no injuries, leave the affected area.
