THE
INTERJECTION
Invariable word of the sentence, which expresses states of mind. In its written form it is
between exclamation marks.

An interjection is a type of word that does not constitute a part of the sentence , but rather
is a single-member sentence. They are equivalent to sentences that express a vivid feeling (
ouch! ), an energetic call (hey!) or elementally describe an action ( wham!, zigzag ).
Classification.- .

1. INTERJECTIONS PROPER (or primary) PROPER INTERJECTIONS


BY THEIR NATURE ARE INTERJECTIONS.
They are those that do not derive from other words :
 Ah!: amazement, surprise, pleasure.
 oh!: amazement, admiration.
 Oh!: pain.
 cool!: acceptance.
 Hey!: rejection, disapproval, surprise.
 hey!: warning, greeting.
 Oops!: amazement, surprise.
 yuck!: disgust displeasure.
 giddy Up! : to urge a horse, indicating that you want to advance.

EXAMPLES OF OWN INTERJECTIONS.-


1.- Boo! (own interjection, disapproval)
2.- Bye! (own interjection, saying goodbye)
3.- Bah! (own interjection, contempt)
4.- Wow! (own interjection, astonishment)
5.- Okay! (own interjection, agreement)
6- Poof! (own interjection, annoyance or relief, depending on the context
7.- Olé! (own interjection, approval)
8.- Hey! (own interjection, joy)
9.- Yupi! (own interjection, joy)
10.- Oops! (own interjection, annoyance or apology)

2. INTERJECTIONS IMPROPER

Improper interjections are forms created from nouns or noun phrases (heavens!,
man!, Holy Virgin!), verbs (arrea! come on!), adverbs (go ahead! out!) or adjectives
(bravo!), so that they are not idiomatically pure interjections. They are used as
interjections due to their usual meaning:
"Help!", "snails!", "devils!", "lightning and lightning!" Long live! Help!
Get out! Another one! Go! Come on! teacher! Enough! Don't bother! shout!

Improper interjections are another type of grammatical words that have been converted
to interjections, according to the mood with which one expresses them.

EXAMPLES OF IMPROPER INTERJECTIONS.-
