COLUMN REPAIR WITH SIKA GROUNT- 212

1. PURPOSE

The objective of this procedure is to provide the necessary and detailed guidelines that must be
followed during the development of column repair using SIKA GROUNT – 212 additive.

2. SCOPE

This procedure applies to all work carried out by 8 TORRES INGENIERIA &
CONSTRUCCION SAC, as well as to all its employees and contractors.

3. REPAIR

3.1- SURFACE PREPARATION


➢ SikaGrout-212 is a high-resistance cementitious mixture, with special aggregates of
controlled granulometry, advanced technology additives, free of chlorides. It is a
product ready for use, just adding water to obtain a mixture of high resistance, fluidity
and self-leveling, specialist in repairing concrete structures where crabs have
occurred, structures where mortar injection is required, etc.
➢ SikaGrout-212, complies with the ASTM C-1107 standard, qualifying as Grout grade
“A”. Compression Strength Tests based on ASTM C-109, with a compression
resistance at 28 days of 750kg/cm2.
➢ Once the area to be repaired has been identified, the surface will be prepared to repair
deteriorated concrete, whose deficiencies were caused during the pouring of the
element.
➢ If there is any irregularity in the geometry of the post-pouring element, it will be
chopped without damaging the steel reinforcement and it will be repaired as indicated
in the following items, after which it will be finished.
➢ All deteriorated concrete must be removed, and loose stones and surface grout must be
removed until healthy concrete is reached.
➢ These works will be carried out carefully, avoiding damaging the structural steel and
not reaching the core of the element.
➢ After removing loose items, mechanically scrape the concrete surface to remove all of
the above materials.
➢ Additionally, it must be ensured that the area to be repaired is free of dust by using an
air blower.

3.2- - REPAIR OF THE REINFORCED CONCRETE SURFACE

Shallow Crabfish
➢ In the event that the crab is superficial (mild), as a result of the segregation of the
concrete in its plastic state, the repair will be carried out with SIKA REP mortar.
➢ Previously, an epoxy adhesion bridge will be applied. In this case, we will apply the
SIKADUR 32 adhesive, which will be prepared and applied according to the technical
sheets attached as complementary information to this procedure.
➢ The SIKA REP product will be prepared and applied in the area to be repaired as
indicated in the technical sheets attached as complementary information to this
procedure.
➢ After placing the SIKA REP mortar, the surface must be leveled immediately using a
wooden trowel, this will be verified when the mortar begins to set, then the area is
cured according to current standards, after verification and approval. of supervision.

Deep Crab Shoes


➢ In the event that the depth of the crab box exceeds the coverage area of the structural
element (strong), as a result of poor compaction of the concrete in its plastic state, the
repair will be carried out with SIKA GROUT 212.

➢ Apply an adhesion bridge, in this case we will apply the product SIKADUR 32, which
will be prepared and applied according to the technical sheets attached as
complementary information to this procedure.

➢ The area to be repaired is formworked so that it can contain the Grout to replace the
volume of concrete damaged by Sika Grout 212.

➢ The SIKA GROUT 212 product will be prepared and applied in the area to be repaired
as indicated in the technical sheets attached as complementary information to this
procedure.

➢ The stripping will proceed after 24 hours have elapsed since the placement of the Grout
and then cure it according to the regulated procedure or as indicated by the HT of the
product.
➢ Finally, once the repair has been removed, the curing process of the area to be
intervened must be carried out.

4. Work and circulation areas
➢ Vehicular traffic lanes will be closed during work
➢ Keep the Areas clean and tidy.
➢ Waste will be removed as soon as the activity has been completed.
5. Materials

The materials comply with what is indicated in the current Technical Building Standards, in
addition to the standards complementary to this project.

6. Safety procedure

➢ It will be coordinated with the person in charge of the area to start the activities.

➢ Inspection of the work area to take the necessary measures.

➢ 5-minute talk at the beginning of the activity

➢ The necessary requirements are considered such as: (AST, night work permit, check list,
etc.) this by the company Diproject.

➢ 8 TORRES INGENIERIA & CONSTRUCCION SAC, guarantees and demonstrates that all
its
staff has their SCTR.

➢ Order and cleanliness will be maintained in the work area at all times.

➢ As a contingency measure, our staff will be attentive and distributed in case of any
eventuality during working hours.

➢ . Use of PPE

➢ The following PPE “S” must be used

➢ Safety helmet.

➢ Chinstraps.

➢ Leather gloves.

➢ Safety glasses.

➢ Leather boots with steel toe.

➢ Work clothes.

➢ Earmuffs or earplugs.

➢ Cones.

8. RESPONSIBILITIES:

8.1 Construction Resident

➢ He will be in charge of providing the resources, both human and material, and in addition
to demanding compliance with the safety standards established in this procedure, with the
support of the Head of Safety and the line of command, for the development of work at
height. .
➢ Comply with filling out work permits.
➢ Use of PPE during work.
➢ Comply with the client's provisions.
➢ Keep your work area tidy and clean.
➢ Keep the work area marked.

8.2 Supervisors/Group Leader

➢ Verify that personnel comply with the task procedure.

➢ Coordinate permits to start activities in the shopping center.

➢ Verify workers' compliance with regulations.

➢ Verify that personnel have their PPE and its correct use.

➢ Ensure that staff maintain order and cleanliness during activities

5.3. Workers

➢ Comply with filling out work permits.

➢ Use of PPE during work.

➢ Comply with the client's provisions.

➢ Immediately remove unnecessary things from your work area.

➢ Keep your work area tidy and clean.

➢ Keep the work area marked.
