Example Interpretation Machover Test Human Figure
It is noted:
Medium-sized drawing, from the front, it is rigid, firm. Continuous straight lines with a
long and firm stroke, medium and constant pressure. A different line (shading) is
observed on the skirt and arms in relation to the rest of the drawing. There is a body
asymmetry. There are stains due to hand sweat.
There are normal details in the drawing of the head, mouth drawn with an upward
curve, rounded chin, large eyes, no eyebrows drawn, very shaded or dirty hair, normal,
proportionate neck without reinforcements or erasing, asymmetrical arms (one more
longer or stronger than the other). Gloved hands, fingers not differentiated, long legs,
square trunk, pointed feet, trapezoidal hips.
Interpretation:
TO. draw a person smaller than her, from the front; which is possibly a self-confident,
introverted person, with a dominant character, with good vital energy, practical and
efficient. You can become a very imaginative person, with a great wealth of ideas and
creativity, you seek autonomy and have the desire to be an independent person.
Represses his aggression.
On the other hand, you may have feelings of guilt for something done with your hands
(masturbation or theft), or for physical attacks on other people. In certain circumstances
you may have a lack of concern for personal appearance. Maybe you need social
approval.

SIZE ANALYSIS
Dimensions: Medium drawing
POSTURE ANALYSIS
From the front: Self-assertion, security, but also aggression, rigidity, narcissism and
exhibitionism can be found in frontal drawings.
Movement analysis
The rigidity and tension of figures in front, firm, with rigid arms, speaks of people
with a defensive attitude, fearful of losing control.
TRACE ANALYSIS
The Straight Line: The interpretation of the predominance of straight lines in the
drawing is interpreted positively as: decisive character, vitality, capacity for logical
analysis, as well as introversion.
Stroke Pressure:
-The medium and constant pressure that produces a firm and clear line makes you
think about emotional balance and a good level of vital energy.
Line thickness:
A different stroke in one sector of the drawing in relation to the rest reflects a
conflict related to that part of the body. (Skirt).
Line Continuity:
-A continuous line with a long and firm line is demonstrating determination and self-
affirmation.
Stroke speed:
- Fast and harmonious strokes are typical of practical and efficient people.
SYMMETRY ANALYSIS
Symmetry is a bodily characteristic (two eyes, two ears, two legs...) and gives a
feeling of balance.
SHADING ANALYSIS:
Shading has a clear significance of anguish, anxiety and conflict about some activity,
whether real or fantasized, related to the shaded area. (Skirt and both arms)
-If the shadowing occurs on the arms or hands, it is revealing feelings of guilt for
something done with the hands (masturbation or theft), or for physical attacks on other
people.
2- Stains or Smudges:
HEAD DRAWING:
3- Normal details in the drawing of the head: It is associated with an adequate and
balanced adaptation, and a self-image without complexes
FACE DRAWING:
Expressiveness is more complete when the face is presented from the front.
If it is drawn with an upward curve (like a smile) it denotes a need for social
approval. Passive and complacent person
EYEBROW DRAWING:
HAIR DRAWING:
Heavily shaded or dirty hair indicates a lack of concern for personal appearance.
Also, anal-expulsive regression
NECK DRAWING:
The normal neck, proportionate and without reinforcements or erasures ,
indicates the security of the person who draws it in relation to impulse control.
-Asymmetric arms (one longer or stronger than the other ) is expressing insecurity
and ambivalence in relation to social contact.
-Fingers drawn very close together, barely separated by a line, indicate repressed
aggression.
Fingers joined together like mittens are an expression of clumsiness and lack of
subtlety.
Long legs indicate a fight for autonomy and a desire for independence.
TRUNK DRAWING:
FEET DRAWING:
Those who suffer from sexual insufficiency and/or preoccupation draw their feet like a
penis.
But if the woman does not suggest the shape of this pelvic area, she is expressing
repression of sexuality or disagreement with her feminine role. Likewise, if they are
drawn with square, rectangular or trapezoidal shapes, they are an expression of
masculine tendencies, expressing a dominant and aggressive character.
