Introduction

The stripping and cleaning of a construction is a preliminary process for the beginning of
a civil work; which is of utmost importance when executing a construction project
because in this process the organic layer is eliminated, which in addition to not being a
firm layer causes problems for the work. brings together all the actions that allow the
indications within the project plans to be achieved.
This report is prepared in order to present specific aspects of the execution of stripping
and cleaning for the construction of a building and a road. Where the personnel in
charge of executing the materials and tools, both conventional and the latest technology,
are established; In addition, the procedure that is carried out each time this activity is
executed is explained in detail.

General objective

Know one of the preliminary processes within a civil work

Specific objectives
 Determine the importance of stripping and cleaning a building and a road
 Know the machinery used when cleaning and stripping.
 Know the personnel responsible for this work
 Determine the thickness of the layer of soil to be removed

Stripping and cleaning for the construction of a building and a road

It consists of the clearing and cleaning of the natural land in the areas that will be
occupied by the road project works and the lateral zones or strips reserved for
the road, which are covered with stubble, weeds, forest, pastures, crops, etc.,
including the removal of stumps, roots, debris and garbage, so that the land is
clean and free of all vegetation and its surface is suitable to begin other work.
The work includes the removal and final disposal, inside or outside the project
area, of all materials from the clearing and cleaning operations, prior
authorization from the Comptroller, in compliance with current legal regulations
and provisions.

Staff

The Designer: Design the project

The resident: ensures the proper execution of the work in accordance with the
project plans.
The topography commission: carries out topographic surveys, leveling, layout
and provides information for carrying out the work.
The teacher in charge: Responsible for the material execution of the project.
Liaison between the construction director and the workers.
Machinery operators: Operate the machinery that is used during the execution
of the stripping.
The workers: Performing tasks that require physical work.
The intervener: Verify compliance with the contractor's obligations, with the
purpose that the object is developed within the terms of quality, opportunity and
economy.

Equipment and materials

 Machetes
 Pallas
 Spikes
 Bars
 Wheelbarrows
 Saws
 Backhoe
 Chargers
 Tippers

Latest technology equipment

For large areas:

• Bulldozer
• Caterpillar backhoe
• Motor grader

For small areas:

• Skid steer
• mini retro
• Backhoe loader

They are not implicit in the construction, but are necessary for the construction:
 Topography Commission
 Referenced geolocation; GPS, drone, sig. (geographic information
system)
5

methodological process

 An access is made to the intervention point: An access is made in order

to be able to move to the intervention point.
 A camp is built
 Topography commission to delimit the intervention area:
 The stripping operation is carried out with the necessary machinery and
materials.
 Final product

Conclusions

 The stripping is undoubtedly very necessary when starting a work since it

allows us to build on a clean and safe area.
 It is generated in order to adapt the environment where all the machinery
and the operational part of the entire project will be located.
 It fulfills the function of soil improvement since what is finally removed is
what will not be used in the execution of the work.
 It can give us a more accurate vision of the possible problems that may
arise, as well as surface water lines, type of soil and even its physical
characteristics.
 It works as a delimiter for our construction since by removing the top the
area of intervention can be optimally visualized.
7

recommendations

 Carry out the entire process under technical supervision in order to

minimize any possible failure that compromises the quality of the
operation.
 Respect the methods and guidelines drawn up that were planned for their
full execution.
 During the execution of the activity, all possible causes-effects that arise
once the solution to each process has been determined are consolidated.
 Execute all safety and environmental protocols proposed during the
consulting and projection of the work.
 Once the activity is over, organize collection points for the materials or
masses of waste that result from the development of the activity, giving
them an optimal disposal.
