CHIBCHA
They are an indigenous group of Central American origin that spread throughout the
territories of the current Republic of Colombia. When the Spanish arrived in the
current Colombian territory, the most advanced indigenous people were the Chibcha or
Muisca Culture of the Cundiboyacense Altiplano. It is considered that this town
reached the most important degree of cultural development among the aborigines of
Northern South America.

CARIBBEAN

They sought to live in the low and hot lands such as the coasts and the valleys of the
Magdalena, Cauca, Atrato and Sinú rivers. This family was very large, it was grouped in
independent territories. They were not unified into a state but rather disintegrated
into smaller groups, with different social organization, different religion and customs.

ARAWAK
The Arawak took the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta as their seat. According to
modern research, they initially lived on the coastal plains of Colombia and Venezuela,
with which they lost their linguistic unity and adopted diverse dialects.
Some tribes of the Arawak family exist today. Of these, the best known is that of
the Guajiros, who still preserve their racial type and customs pure.
