3 CALIBRATION GAS INSTALLATION

1) Place the gas cylinder on the gas cylinder

holder and secure it with straps.

2) Connect the pressure regulator ❶ to the

gas cylinder. Use a spanner to make the
connection tight. Use an O-ring sealing to 1
prevent the connection from any gas
leakage.

3) If the pressure regulator has no output

that is compatible with the blue hose
supplied with the CPET system, connect
a hose adapter ❶ to the pressure
regulator. The hose adapter must allow a
4 mm hose to be connected to it. 1

4) Now you can connect the blue hose ❶ to
the regulator (or hose adapter).

5) Finally, open the gas cylinder using its

valve and set the output pressure ❶ with 1
the pressure regulator ❷ to
approximately 1 bar (= 14.5 psi). Then,
close the gas cylinder.

Safety precautions!

 Never open the gas cylinder with its valve without a pressure regulator connected to
it.
 Close the gas cylinder with its valve after every calibration.

to run its cable through the central pole and
the gas analyzer’s arm of the BTL
CardioPoint Trolley.

4.3 Devices
 Ergometer or Treadmill
 ECG
 Gas analyzer
 Ambient sensor
 Blood pressure monitor

All the devices should be connected to the

computer by USB means (Standard or SS).

You may need to use a USB HUB in order to

connect all the devices. We recommend a
powered USB HUB. Preferably the
PowerCube PowerUSB Hub.

Note: The gas analyzer is recommended to be

connected directly to the computer ports.

Note: Connect the devices to the USB SS ports (blue ones) which can transfer data ten
times faster than the normal ones. These are found on the back side of the computer (HP
Prodesk).
