5 Question: How do you define crime prevention ?
6 Participant 1: Crime prevention are strategies made by the
7 government to reduce the occurrence of crime and discourage
8 criminals in re-offending and individual to commit crimes. It
9 also promotes a sense of security and safety to the society.
10 Question: What is your perception of the role of sports in
11 crime prevention ?
12 Participant 1: Sports can be beneficial in crime prevention in
13 a way that it encourage young individuals to engage in the
14 activities organized by their communities. By engaging in
15 sports activities it discourage individuals in criminal acts
16 and behavior.
17 Question: Do you believe that engaging in sports activities
18 can deter individuals from engaging in criminal behavior?
19 Why or why not?
20 Participant 1: Yes, I believe that by engaging in sports
21 activities it can deter individuals from engaging in criminal
22 behavior because it helps individuals to develop leadership,
23 teamwork and social skills. It also enhance their relationship
24 and sense of belongingness to the community.
25 Question: In your opinion, what specific aspects of sports
26 contribute to its potential as a crime prevention strategy?
27 Participant 1: There are a lot of sports that can contribute
28 to crime prevention and basketball or volleyball are the most
29 common sports. The training that the individual have to
30 undergo in these sports will teach them different values,
31 discipline and attitudes that will help in improving
32 themselves.
33 Question: Are there any specific sports has a potential to
34 contribute as a crime prevention ?
35 Participant 1: Basketball, volleyball or any sports that needs
36 teamwork can help in preventing crime. Because these sports
37 promotes loyalty, belonging, support and trust to the whole
38 team.

40 Participant 2: These are actions taken to discourage criminal
41 activities .
42 Question: What is your perception of the role of sports in
43 crime prevention ?
44 Participant 2:Sports can help you become physically fit and
45 there are sports that can help you defend yourself, for
46 example, jujitsu, karate, self defense techniques and etc.

48 can deter individuals from engaging in criminal behavior?

50 Participant 2: Yes, sports are activities that can exercise
51 oneself and can give entertainment for others
52 Question: In your opinion, what specific aspects of sports

54 Participant 2: Sports can be use as exercise, for competitions
55 and for entertainment.

57 activities that you believe are more effective in preventing

59 Participant 2: Basketballs, martial arts and many more, it can
60 provide exercise to the players and they can learn how to
61 strategize the game and teamwork.

64 that diminish or seek to prevent all the wrongful act.

71 Participant 3: Yes of course, I believed that engaging in
72 sport activities engaging in sports activities can deter
73 individuals from engaging in criminal behavior especially
74 those teenagers na ang dali dali nilang turuan
75 maimpluwensyahan if magugugol yung time nila sa sports ganyan
76 of course makakaiwas sila na gumawa ng crime at the same time

78 maging victim sila ng crime.

81 Participant3: I guess all specific aspects of sports can
82 contribute para ma-prevent ang crime. I believed that sports
83 has potential to contribute as crime prevention because yung
84 mga kabataan malilibang at the same time may bago silang
85 kahihiligan like basketball, badminton, volleyball and of
86 course if ever na may kinahihiligan sila na bagay na gustong
87 nilang gawin I guess that prevents na matuto sila gumawa ng
88 crime at the same time mabiktima ng crime.

92 Participant 3: I guess number one specific sports that is more
93 effective in preventing crime is basketball because there's a
94 lot of people engaging or naglalaro ng basketball at the same
95 time kahit yung mga hindi marunong maglaro they watch
96 nalilibang sila kapag nanunuod sila ng ano basketball.

100 occurring. This can include a wide range of strategies, from

107 positive outlets for their energy and emotions. Engaging in
108 sports can help build teamwork, discipline, and self-
109 confidence, which can contribute to overall positive behavior.

112 Participant 4: Yes, I do believe that engaging in sports
113 activities can deter individuals from engaging in criminal
114 behavior. Participation in sports provides individuals with a
115 healthy and constructive way to release stress and build
116 strong social bonds. The focus and determination required in
117 sports can help individuals develop a sense of self-discipline
118 and purpose.

122 such as improved physical health, stress reduction, and
123 increased self-esteem, can all contribute to its potential as
124 a crime prevention strategy. Sports also provide opportunities
125 for mentorship and guidance from coaches and teammates, as
126 well as a sense of belonging and community support.

139 anumang mga krimen tulad nalang sa ating mga barangay may mga
140 nagfoot patrol sa kalsada para maiwasan ang anumang mga

168 crime prevention kasi una yong pagsali mo palang sa sport
169 nadedevelop mo na sarili mo kumbaga nagkakaroon ka ng respeto
170 sa ibang tao ayon kapag nasanay kanang nakikipaglaro sa mga
171 tao mas naiiwasan mo siguro na ma involved sa krimen.

193 specific sport para sa akin kasi madalas talaga ang kabataan
194 ang nagko commit ng crimes so pag yon nga nag set ka ng liga
195 yon ang focus ng kabataan ngayon liga lang na ma involved sa
196 mga maling gawain achieven maglaro, mag focus ganon, mag
197 exercise, mag training para sa basketball nila magpa lakas ng
198 katawan.

200 Participant 7: Crime prevention means doing things to stop
201 crimes from happening, keeping a community safe and secure. It
202 involves using different plans and strategies to lower the
203 chances of criminal activities.

206 Pariticipant 7: Playing sports helps prevent crime because it
207 gives people a good way to use their energy, encourages
208 teamwork and discipline, makes them feel like they belong, and
209 keeps them focused on positive things instead of getting
210 involved in criminal activities.
211 Question: Do you believe that engaging in sports activities
212 can deter individuals from engaging in criminal behavior?
213 Participant 7: Playing sports can stop people from doing
214 crimes. Sports give a good and organized place where you learn
215 discipline, teamwork, and grow personally. They give you
216 another way to focus your energy, making it less likely for
217 someone to turn to crime for excitement or fulfillment.
218 Question: In your opinion, what specific aspects of sports
219 contribute to its potential as a crime prevention strategy?
220 Participant 7: In my own opinion, playing sports can help
221 prevent crime in a few ways. First, it gives people a positive
222 way to use their energy and aggression, making it less likely
223 for them to do something wrong. Second, sports encourage
224 teamwork and being part of a group, which makes people feel
225 connected and less likely to commit crimes. Third, being
226 involved in sports teaches discipline and self-control,
227 helping people make good choices and avoid doing things
228 impulsively. Also, playing sports keeps you physically and
229 mentally healthy, making you stronger and less likely to get
230 involved in criminal activities.
231 Question: Are there any specific sports or types of physical
232 activities that you believe are more effective in preventing
233 crime? Why?
234 Participant 7: Taking part in outdoor activities like hiking,
235 cycling, or rock climbing is seen as a good way to prevent
236 crime. This is because they help keep you physically healthy
237 by getting you moving and exercising, which makes your mind
238 feel better and lowers stress. Being in nature during these
239 activities also helps you feel less stressed and overall
240 happier. The calm and natural settings of outdoor activities
241 give you a break from city life, reducing stress and the
242 chance of doing something wrong because of bad feelings. Doing
243 outdoor activities also gives you a positive way to spend your
244 free time, making you feel satisfied and less likely to turn
245 to crime for excitement.
