1. What is the function of the video card in a computer?

It is an expansion card or an integrated circuit that is responsible for processing the

data sent by the computer processor and transforming them into visible and
understandable information for the user, represented on the output device, the
monitor.

2. Write the parts of the video card.

3. Write the characteristics of a graphics card for design and a graphics card
for video games.
Card for designers:
a. Drivers for complex calculations with double precision float operations.
b. They focus on textures and lighting effects.
c. ECC (error correcting code) RAM memory, which prevents cards from having
to be
restart from time to time and thus work in heavy workloads and long hours.
 d. It heats up less.
e. Its cost is higher than a video game graphics card.
Video game card:
a. Drivers for complex floating-like calculations.
b. They focus on accelerating graphics when playing video games in general in
FPS (frames per second).
c. GDDR (Graphics Double Data Rate) RAM is faster memory, but it has to be
reset from time to time.
d. Their cost is lower with designer graphics cards.
