1. OBJECTIVE.

The purpose of this procedure is to establish the execution sequence for the work of
“Construction Sign Installation” in the Company Voltari Engineering and Business Ltda.

2. REACH.

This procedure applies to all direct and indirect personnel, who will execute “Construction
Sign Installation” in the company Voltari Ingeniería y Negocios Ltda.

3. DEFINITIONS.

 Pavement: Area of both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.


 Work area: The work area is understood to be the affected surface as a result of
the work carried out that must be a response for its reuse under normal conditions.
 Anchorage: Safe point to which personal fall protection equipment with a minimum
resistance of 5000 pounds (2,272 kg) per connected person can be connected.
 Connector: Any equipment that allows the worker's harness to be attached to the
anchor point.
 Carabiner: Metallic equipment in the form of a ring that allows direct connections
from the harness to the anchor points. Another use is to serve as a connection
between fall protection or rescue equipment to its anchor point.
 Fall Hazard: Refers to any position or location where the person or worker is
exposed to a potential fall.

4. RESPONSIBLE.

4.1 Construction manager.

Correctly and timely provide the necessary human resources, materials and equipment
that require the implementation and application of this procedure.

Carry out the necessary corrective actions, as a result of the inspections and
observations of the operation, according to whom it corresponds and leave them
stipulated in the procedures and make them known.

4.2 Head of land.

Instruct staff, observe, comply with and enforce the strict application of this procedure and
will record these instructions, with the signature of those attending this instruction.

Ensure the physical integrity of the workers under their command, equipment, materials
and facilities.

Carry out the necessary corrective actions, as a result of the inspections and
observations of the operation, according to whom it corresponds and leave them
stipulated in the approved procedures and instructions, making them known to the
workers.

The field manager and/or foreman in charge will be responsible for ensuring that the
equipment used in operations complies with safety measures.

Carry out induction talks prior to carrying out the work involved

4.3 Quality Manager and Technical Office.

Timely delivery of information to the foremen involved in the activity.


Record the activity through documentation.
Verify the completion of internal training and dissemination of this procedure to workers.

Timely deliver the information required by field professionals and risk prevention experts,
with respect to the different services found in the place that is going to be intervened by
the work group.

4.4 Foreman.

He must be with the workers on the ground at all times, ensuring the physical integrity of
each worker in charge, in addition to executing the work according to the planning carried
out, as well as verifying the optimal state of tools, equipment, before carrying out the
work. For this, you must have all the support of resources and there must be direct
communication with supervision. You must make this document known to all workers who
directly participate in this activity and keep a record of it in the Training Record form.

4.5 Preventionist.

Verify the implementation and application of this document and advise on its compliance.

Verify the conditions under which the activities involved are carried out.

Evaluate compliance with the document.

Advise and supervise the control of operational risks, supporting supervision at all times.

Provide instructions on the correct work method if any risk is detected during the activity
that is not considered in the work procedures.

Evaluate and indicate personal protection elements and others to support the operation.

4.6 Worker.

5.- Considerations for working at height

Work at physical height is considered to be any task carried out above 1.50 meters from
the existing floor level. Work at height will also be considered when there are unevenness
or excavations.

5.1 TRAINING
All people who must perform work at physical heights, as well as supervision, must receive
appropriate training. This training must include the relevant evaluation that verifies mastery
of this competence. The syllabus of this training must contain at least:

 Required facilities
 Correct anchors and connection techniques
 Methods of use
 Inspection of fastening elements
 Practice in the field on its use

6.- Material of the sign:

 Graphic: self-adhesive vinyl (solved inks with UV filter with a long-lasting


guarantee)
 Graphic support plate: must be Zinc or Metal
 Sign support: wooden or metal pillar (ensuring visibility with material
long lasting)

6.1 Dimensions, content and images

The dimensions and images of the sign will depend on the cost and type of work.

7. Important aspects

The printed graphic must be placed on a supporting metal structure with a plate of at least
0.50 mm (flat corrugated board) or the equivalent of No. 26 corrugated board, which must
guarantee the stability of the sign. If necessary, buttresses will be placed that allow for
adequate stability. The supporting structures will preferably be made of metal profiles (3”
galvanized iron pipe), which will be fixed using (screws to wooden columns), screws to the
3” galvanized iron pipe, which will then be embedded in the ground, in such a way that
they are perfectly firm and vertical.

The final height of the sign must be set by the ITO in such a way that it is visible and easy
to identify (The height of the signs will be uniform nationwide, check the details of the
construction sign).

On the other hand, the CONTRACTOR must provide and place several signaling and
prevention signs, which must remain throughout the duration of the work and it will be the
exclusive responsibility of the CONTRACTOR to safeguard, maintain and replace them in
case of deterioration or loss. The signs must have caution, prohibition and other legends.
The amount will be quantified according to the magnitude of each project according to the
graphs indicated in the corresponding annex, these signaling signs will be borne by the
CONTRACTOR.

8.- RISKS INVOLVED IN THE WORK AND POSSIBLE DAMAGES:

 Scaffolding collapse.
 Falls into the void due to inadequate work platforms.
 Falls into the void due to not using a safety harness.
Risk when going up, when working and when going down.
 Risk of eventual rescue.
 Fall from different levels when working on scaffolding, ladders, platforms, etc.
 Fall of materials, tools, cuttings, slag, helmets, etc., on people passing under the
work area.

8.1.- PREVENTIVE MEASURES

 Work platforms must be protected from vacuum along their entire free perimeter, by a
railing that prevents people and materials from falling.
 In all work at height, the passage areas of the lower levels will be isolated and marked
to avoid damage due to possible falls of objects, materials or tools.
 Fall protection means must be placed correctly and maintained in good condition, and
must not be manipulated, modified, much less removed.
 You should evaluate a high work surface, for a good harness selection, with D rings on
the back, hip and double lifeline.
 The harness and life rope must be kept in good condition; if there are cracks or
damage, they must be changed.

 Once the harness has been subjected to a fall, it must be changed as it loses its
properties.
 The lifeline must be made of galvanized steel.
 Personnel must be trained and retrained if necessary in the use of protective equipment
and working at height.

supervisor, and in the meantime you must refrain from carrying out any activity.
