INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRESENTATION OF THE ENGLISH CLASSIFICATION TEST

Dear student,

Next, I send you the following information to remember important aspects of the English placement test
including the date of completion and access to it . Please read this instruction in its entirety.

What is the classification test?

The classification test is a standardized test that has been designed to identify the skills you have in the
English foreign language before you begin the 3 levels established in your program.

The objective with this classification test is to provide you with an optimal learning path for the
apprehension of the different English foreign language skills. Thus, after taking the classification test, you
will be able to identify if you need to present a leveling course to be taken during the 2021-2 period or you
will simply obtain a certificate that validates that you will be able to enroll your level of English 1 without
any inconvenience in the following quarters.

Who must take the classification test?

The classification test must be presented only by students who, according to their program , enroll in level
1 of English in the second or third semester of 2021.

IMPORTANT: If you have taken or enrolled in any of the English levels in previous semesters (introductory
level, English 1,2 and/or 3), or have carried out any homologation process through proficiency exams for
any of the English levels established in the program with the UVD English area, you must ignore this test.

What day should I take the exam?

The only presentation date for your classification test is Thursday, April 22, 2021.

The exam will be enabled between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm and each student, according to their work,
family and/or academic obligations, must allocate a space of maximum 80 minutes to be able to present

your test.
It is important to mention that the exam has a maximum limit of 80 minutes to be presented, so you
must set a time that does not exceed the time frame mentioned above. Therefore, if you choose the last
slot, you will have to start your exam no later than 8:40 pm.

How many attempts do I have to take the classification test?

You have only one attempt to take your classification test . Once the attempt begins, the time
established for its presentation, which corresponds to 80 minutes, is automatically activated.
Subsequently, you must download the certificate that appears there and you must send it to
angela.silva@uniminuto.edu so that you can be instructed on the next step.

What happens if I enter my test late?

The last slot to enter the exam is at 8:40 pm If you enter after this time you will have a minimum time of
80 minutes since the system automatically closes the exam at 10:00 pm

Where do I find my exam?

The exam will be hosted in the UNIMINUTO classrooms. Please note the following step by step:

1. Enter your UNIMINUTO classrooms and locate access 2021 -1 in the quarterly programs.
2. Access your classrooms with the username and password that you normally use to enter this space
