•Contribute to the national gas industry, with the processes of exploration, extraction and
production of natural gas, through different processes that allow the improvement of said
activities, both in quantity and quality, with minimal effects on the environment.
•Design new drilling techniques to optimize reserve calculations, recovery, storage and
transportation of national free and associated natural gas, in favor of the comprehensive
development of the country.
•Study technical, economic, social, political and ecological criteria for the exploration,
extraction and production of gas.
•Execute programs aimed at developing new technologies linked to the design of
operating equipment in gas pipelines, conditioning plants, fractionation, processing and
control systems in the gas industry that are environmentally and socially appropriate.

PFG Research Lines in Petroleum

· The program is aimed at contributing, in the oil industry, to the processes of exploration,
drilling and extraction of hydrocarbons, through different processes that allow the
improvement of said activities, both in quantity and quality with minimal effects on health and
the environment.

· Strengthen the processes and mechanisms for searching and calculating reserves, to
eliminate uncertainties and quantify the real values of the nation's assets with respect to the
oil field.

· The program is aimed at supporting the best use of raw materials in the oil industry, with the
aim of obtaining the greatest number of applications for crude oil, oriented towards the
comprehensive development of the country.

· Execute programs aimed at developing proprietary technological solutions adapted to the

particularities and dynamics of the oil industry and that are environmentally and socially
appropriate.

· Encourage significant increases in National Added Value throughout the hydrocarbon chain
and the generation of national capital at the local, regional and national level.

· The program is aimed at contributing, in the refining industry, to the pollutant removal processes, through
different processes that allow the improvement of crude oil, both in quantity and quality with minimal
effects on health and the environment.
·Strengthen regulatory processes and mechanisms to eliminate environmental liabilities produced by the
operations in which the refining and petrochemical industry is part of.
· The program is aimed at supporting the best use of raw materials, in the petrochemical industry, in the
production of finished products, oriented towards the comprehensive development of the country.
· The program is aimed at developing proprietary technological solutions adapted to the particularities and
dynamics of the refining and petrochemical industry, in the area of automation, computing and
telecommunications.
· Promote significant increases in National Added Value throughout the hydrocarbon chain and the
generation of national capital at the local, regional and national level.
· The program is aimed at developing technologies, procedures and strategies that allow progressively
strengthening the participation of the national industry in operational and administrative activities
