小猫可可和小兔露露是一对好朋友,它们每天都在一起玩儿。

很快,露露的房间里就堆满了大家送来的各种各样的水果。
吃了美味的水果,露露的病很快就好了。瞧,它正和可可一起快乐地
玩耍呢!
一天,露露想喝蔬菜汤了,它往锅里放了一根胡萝卜。“哇,好香呀,
要是再加点别的就更好了!”
蔬菜汤的香味儿飘到了可可的鼻子里,它捧着一把绿绿的豆子,往露
露家跑去。
可可把豆子洒进锅里,用勺子搅了搅,放了豆子的蔬菜汤香味儿更浓
了。
蔬菜汤的香味儿飘到了羊姐姐的鼻子里,它抱着一个大大的南瓜,往
露露家跑去。
羊姐姐把南瓜切成块,放进锅里,用勺子搅了搅,放了南瓜的蔬菜汤
味道更香了。
蔬菜汤的香味儿飘到了鸭子哥哥的鼻子里,它叼起一根长长的莲藕,
往露露家跑去。
鸭子哥哥把莲藕切成片,放进锅里,用勺子搅了搅,放了莲藕的蔬菜
汤闻起来更诱人了。
冒着热气的蔬菜汤终于煮好了,大家围坐在餐桌前。哇,好香呀,快
来一起尝尝吧!
春天到了,可可和露露这对好朋友在森林里开了一间小花店。
小花店里有很多花:兰花、茉莉花、玫瑰花、绣球花……都和露露一样
好看。
小花店里还有很多树:柳树、梨树、柿子树……都和可可一样壮实。
猴弟弟买了一棵大桃树,可可帮它把桃树种在了院子里。
等到丰收的时候,猴弟弟就有新鲜的桃子吃了。
羊姐姐选了一包菊花的种子,露露帮它种在了门前。
等到秋风吹起的时候,羊姐姐就能在美丽的花园里散步了。
熊伯伯夏天最怕热,可可帮它挑了一棵小松树。
等小松树长大了,熊伯伯就可以在树荫下乘凉了。
鹿妹妹喜欢画画,它向露露要了一包牡丹花的种子。
等到牡丹花盛开的时候,鹿妹妹就可以在花丛中画画了。
斑马爷爷最爱看竹子,它让可可帮忙在窗户下种了一大丛竹子。
翠绿的竹叶随风摇摆,斑马爷爷越看越喜欢。
可可和露露的小花店真不错!大家都对它俩翘起了大拇指。

The authenticity of this bill of sale is attested
by N. Harrington, a justice of the peace of the
state of Maryland, and for the county of Talbot,
dated same day as above.

“To all whom it may concern: Be it known that
I, Hugh Auld, of the city of Baltimore, in Baltimore
county in the state of Maryland, for divers good
causes and considerations, me thereunto
moving, have released from slavery, liberated,
manumitted, and set free, and by these presents
do hereby release from slavery, liberate,
manumit, and set free, my negro man, named
Frederick Baily, otherwise called Douglass,
being of the age of twenty-eight years, or
thereabouts, and able to work and gain a
sufficient livelihood and maintenance; and him
the said negro man, named Frederick
Douglass, I do declare to be henceforth free,
manumitted, and discharged from all manner of
servitude to me, my executors and
administrators forever.
“In witness whereof, I the said Hugh Auld,
have hereunto set my hand and seal the fifth of
December, in the year one thousand eight
hundred and forty-six.
