What is a love triangle?
First of all you have to know what a love triangle is.

To make it better understood, I am going to give examples of popular

series/movies where this happens.

My way of explaining it is when the protagonist has two love interests.

The protagonists of the story:
The protagonists of this story are:
James, Betty and Augustine

Summary of what happened: James and

Betty were dating but in Summer James
goes out with Augustine, let's say, he is
unfaithful to Betty.
The songs tell us how this happens and the
characters' reaction. Let's see one by one...
First song and first point of view:
The first song is cardigan and its point of view is Betty , years after
what happened.
Here I leave the most notable references in the song but there is more.

Cardigan video
"And when I felt like it that
was an old jacket under
someone's bed James left her behind to
“You named me and go with another girl, but
said I was your then he comes back and
favorite.” says that she is his
favorite
Here it refers to the fact

“Chase two girls, lose the one.”

Here he refers to the fact that he is with two girls and
loses the right one (Betty)
Second song and second of
point view:
The second song is August and his point of view Augustine .
Here I leave the most notable references in the song but there is
more.
august video

“But I can see us lost in He refers

memories August was to the fact
lost in a moment in time that he
Because it was never was never the first
mine.” option, that James was
never his.
“It's too much for a
summer love and saying
we”
He refers to the fact that
everything they
experienced for James
was just Summer love,
while for Augustine it was
true love.
Third song and third point of view:
The third song is Betty and her point of view is James.
This song is the one that most explains what happened, and says it
literally, so here are some of its references.

Here he says that he
slept with Augustine
but that he dreamed
about Betty all the
time.
If you have the opportunity I recommend
that you see:

“folklore the long pond studio sessions” where Taylor explains this.
