attention the most
The sacred scriptures summarize with songs of praise by the children of God, the
apostle Paul exhorts all of us, as he did with the church of Colossae, "that we never
forget the wonderful teachings of Christ, that we sing psalms , hymns and spiritual
songs from all our hearts. Church leaders and pastors were asked to complete a
survey indicating which hymns are used and therefore desirable to keep in the hymnal,
which to eliminate because they are not used, and which new hymns or songs to
incorporate. This survey was also sent to Adventist lay musicians and music
professors at Adventist universities. The music of each hymn was also carefully
reviewed in light of reliable sources and the necessary corrections were incorporated.
On the other hand, minor adjustments were made. in some hymns. An effort has also
been made to include all the relevant information that was possible to choose and
confirm with respect to all the hymns and has been placed at the end of each one. The
information about the lyrics appears first: the name of the author of the original lyrics
and the name of the author of the Spanish version
All the authors thank God for the direction of the Holy Spirit in the long process of
preparing this new edition of the ADVENTIST HYMNARY and fervently hope that it will
be a blessing for the church and bring us closer to the praise that the angels pay to the
Lord.
