The two pie charts illustrate a conclusion of a survey of boys’ and girls’ cultural and leisure activities.

Overall, it can be seen that equal quantities of both sexes enjoyed listening to music, but over a
tenfold per cent of girls, compared to the first chart, liked reading. There were also differences in
terms of children’s’ favourite sport.

Turning to the first chart, it can be observed that computer games were chosen by the majority of
boys who participated in the survey (34%). Playing basketball comes to second place as it was
practiced by almost a third of male children. On the third place was soccer (17 %). Skateboarding
were less preferable activities chosen by, respectively, 11 and 10 per cent of boys. The least popular
cultural activity among boys was reading with only 2%.

Taking a closer look to the second chart, the most preferred activity was dancing as it was practiced
by almost a third of all the girls. In contrast of boys’ preferences, reading was chosen as a second
favourite cultural activity. Although the percentage of female children who enjoyed playing games
were almost twice less compared to that of boys’ (16%) it was the third most chosen activity among
girls. With a slight difference between computer games and netball, the second was practiced by 15%
rate. Similarly to skateboarding in the first pie chart, 11% of girls practised gymnastics. Listening to
music was the least popular leisure activity with a percentage of 10% equal to those on the first
chart.
