Quick guide for manual programming of the reader

IMPORTANT
When the device is powered on, it is in Verification State , that is, the reader waits
for a valid fingerprint or card to give access to a user.

Administrator Registration.

Before registering any user, it is necessary to register the Administrator.

If a fingerprint or card is placed in Verification Status and there is no registered
Administrator , a voice will say: “Please bring the card closer”, or if we place the
fingerprint the device will say “Please try again” .

When we energize the reader, a voice tells us: “User verification, please bring your
fingerprint or bring the card closer , ” requesting that we register Administrator.

To register an administrator follow the following steps:

1 .- Press the Enroll button. Press and hold the Enroll button for approximately
5 seconds, a voice will say “Administrator registration, please register your
fingerprint or hold the card”.

2 .- Registration modes:

• Fingerprint: It will be necessary to place the desired finger on the

fingerprint reader; The voice will tell us that it must be placed again, and
then for the last time. The voice will say “User 001, registration
successful” . If you continue in this mode of operation, the system waits for
the registration of a new user. If you want to register a new user, the same
process is carried out, otherwise press Enroll to return to the Verification
Status.

• Card: Pass the card in front of the reader, the voice will indicate “User 001,
successful registration”, if you continue in that operating mode the system
waits for another user to register, it is necessary to press the Enroll button
to go to the Verification Status .

IMPORTANT : It is possible that the reader's voice indicates “Please try

again” ; This indicates that an error has occurred in the reading and it is
necessary to try again.

Registration of new users.

1 .- Press the Enroll button; The voice will indicate that the administrator 's
identification (card or fingerprint) is necessary, or by pressing the Enroll button
again we return to Verification Status .

2 .- When validating the Administrator , it is necessary to swipe the proximity

card, or validate the fingerprint on the fingerprint reader three times. Once any of
the above is done, the voice will say: “User 00X Successful Registration”, where
“X” is the user number. Every time a new user is added it will be added to the
device memory.

3 .- Press Enroll to exit to the Verification Status .

Delete Users.
There are two ways to delete users:
• Manual form, where the user or card must be present.
• Software elimination, where the presence of the user or card is not
necessary.

a) Manual removal
1 .- Press Delete ; The voice will ask that it is necessary to confirm this
request with the administrator's identification (card or fingerprint), or if you want to
exit, press Delete again.

2 .- Place fingerprint or card to be deleted, the voice will tell us: ”User 00X,
successful deletion” , and it will return to the Verification Status , where “X” is the
user number.

b) Software removal
For elimination through software, it is necessary to download the “UserMng” tool
and consult the technical tip.

IMPORTANT: The ZK Fingerprint Reader Management software cannot delete

users from the reader since it only monitors its activity.

Interpretation of the “LED” Indicator Light.

> Blue: The device is in Verification Status.

> Green: The reader is giving access to a user, or is in programming mode.
> Red: Access denied, duplicate card or fingerprint, error in card or
fingerprint reading.
