The cursed island by JBear

On a faraway land, once lived a civil servant who went by the name Giuseppe Marshall. Mr
Marshall known professionally, was in his early thirties and had accomplished what many of his
seniors could not, earning hideous stares from his envious seniors and respect from the eager
younger learners. Giuseppe was born in the outskirts of Chicago but was a descent of France as
his great great grandfather had migrated here about a hundred years ago, and although he
spent his early years of childhood in the former, he eventually ended up right where he
originally came from. In the early 1800’s was when things shifted as he was embarking his mid
30’s, many were curious and often asked why he had never wed someone yet, but all he said
was. “When the time comes. I shall do something about it.” And no one bothered to be
troublesome afterwards.
This was the life of Giuseppe Marshall until now, a respected man serving for his country but what the
future had for him was something that even the tides could not stop. It was a regular day in Nice, and he
sat down near his colleagues to have some whiskey gifted for his brilliant and brave actions as usual.

“Ah Mr Marshall, what wonderful things have you done this time?” asked one of the men in red.

“Stopped about forty outsiders from intruding.” He responded whilst sipping his drink that one of the
juniors had offered to pour out for him.

An hour passed by and the sun set in making the sky appear like a blue orangeade at 5:53 pm, paying
respect to the recently coined term Blue hour by sir Arthur of the kingdom of … Many of the elders had
left by then as they needed to protect a certain area, while some others were sleepy already. However,
Giuseppe and the younger fellows sat together emptying another bottle of expensive whiskey and
cooked beef that peasants never saw or ate in their lifespan. All was well until there was the sound of
the bells, it was an instruction sent to inform that there was an emergency in a newly discovered place
and of course one of the highest ranks, Mr Marshall had to step in.

“What’s the issue, Bennett?” He asked, lighting a cigar with his left hand.

“There’s been a new discovery of land, and you know what to do.”

“Of course, see you tomorrow at four then.” Giuseppe said, and walked back home to sober up.

The next morning, Giuseppe and the rest of his men went to research and find any sights in the latest
discovery they had been informed about. For him, it only took about an hour to inspect the area filled
with threatening creatures and flavourful fruits although what made him really enjoy this mission was
hearing the sound of the waves washing over the shore, and seagulls nearby. He decided to sit by the
shore, taking an inch of sand with his four fingers as one had been lost when he was twenty four and
was serving in the army. Suddenly, there was a heavy metal sound heard from afar and screams of his
teammates, with his talented skills he sprinted towards the area where the sound was coming from.
