JOB DESCRIPTION

SERVICENOW SAM PRO CONSULTANT - This role is customer facing, requiring excellent oral and written
communication skills. Availability during the business day between 8 am – 5 pm EST is required.

 We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Now Software Asset Management (SAM)
Pro Consultant ant to join our team on a contract basis.
 As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with software licensing
agreements, optimizing license usage, and implementing best practices to maximize software
investments.
 Key qualifications for this role include a strong background in IT service management, experience
with Service Now SAM Pro, and the ability to analyse and define requirements while communicating
with stakeholders from technical specialists to executive leadership.

Roles and Responsibilities:

 Build and mature software license positions in ServiceNow SAM Pro


 Enhance software reclamation processes and automation including driving the management of
usage monitoring and related support processes
 Validate compliance using modelling and discovery
 Enable and configure lifecycle management for selected software products
 Evaluate integrations with existing tools and products
 Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to manage software procurement and licensing activities.
 Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and identify
potential areas for improvement
 Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on software asset management best practices
including optimizing license usage and reduce software costs
 Monitor software usage patterns and recommend license re-harvesting or re-allocation
opportunities to ensure compliance with all software license agreements and software usage
 Assist in the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures related to software asset
management
 Leverage experience in ServiceNow SAM Pro to drive additional program maturity and mentor team
members in best practices
 Assist legal and vendor management partners with defence of audits and inquiries from third parties
 Support exception process for non-standard software requests
 Drive enterprise risk reduction through collaboration with product owners by finding opportunities
for software updates or removal
 Develop and introduce Software standards to support Software Asset Management governance
 Stay informed about industry trends, licensing changes, and advancements in SAM technology

Qualification:
 Experience meeting deadlines and managing expectations around project deliverables
 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
 Proven experience in software asset management with a focus on Service Now's SAM Pro module
 Familiarity with software licensing models, compliance, and audit processes
 Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate asset records
 Experience with excel or other data analysis tools
 Experience with business requirements gathering and analysis
 Understanding of information processing concepts and practices and data hygiene
 Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
 Ability to proactively identify and resolve software asset management challenges
 Certification in IT Asset Management (e.g., IAITAM, CSAM) is a plus
