OUR EXPERIENCE IN MHM
Breaking stigma, and fostering open conversations about

menstruation among students, teachers, and parents.

The increased awareness about menstrual hygiene not only in

adolescent groups but among elderly women.


There is increased dignity and comfort for girls during
menstruation.
There is increased attendance and improved academic

performance of girls in schools.

Increased proper menstrual hygiene practices among girls.

Reduced prevalence of urinary tract infection among girls.


Goal of the Project
To promote menstrual hygiene, eliminate stigma, and improve overall
health outcomes among adolescent girls through education, access to
sustainable products, and fostering supportive environments.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

2. Eliminate societal stigma and taboo.
3. Educate boys and men respectfully.
4. Introduce eco-friendly sanitary products.
5. Improve health and environmental outcomes.

individuals experiencing menstruation.

Talk shows by government doctors in schools to


educate students about proper menstrual hygiene
management practices.

on MHM Stakeholders such as School
Management Committees (SMC),
teachers, AWC Worker and staff on
effectively communicating menstrual
hygiene information and fostering a
supportive environment.
Girls Corner

A space for girls to take rest while discomfort during


menstruation due to provision of bed in the corner.
A space to access information materials which they
need.
It offers privacy and dignity to the adolescent girls.
A space where adolescent come together, participate
and find a solution to issues that confront adolescent
girls.
Installation of Sanitary
Vending and
Incinerator Machines

Install vending machines in schools for easy access


to sanitary pads.
Install incineration machines for proper disposal of
used sanitary pads.
This machine would hold a capacity of 50 pads
which can be easily accessed by dropping 2 Rs.
Coins.
Extend initiatives beyond Bihar and
Jharkhand to Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh.
FUTURE PLAN Set up small-scale units for biodegradable
sanitary napkins.
