23/7/2020 “The perfect crime”, a police story written by boys

Once upon a time there was a woman named María, who felt the need to hire a detective due to the anguish of
knowing that there was a murderer on the loose who wanted to kill her family.
Maria constantly asked herself: “Why?” Having contacted the detective, and after their nervous talk, the
investigation began.
The detective asked her: “Did you have a jealous boyfriend in the past?”
To which María responded: “Yes, but he died a long time ago, along with several other people.”
The detective asked again: “Why did they die?”
María stated: “The plane in which he and other people were traveling crashed.”
The investigator continued: “Do you have any enemies?”
And she…: “I don't know.”
He questioned her again: “Have you ever been threatened?”
María: “Yes, a few days ago I found a note under the door.”
Him: “Could you show it to me?”
Maria nodded: “Yes, of course,” handing the note to the detective.
He himself was impressed, because the note said the following: “Take care of your children…”.
The next day, our protagonist took her children to school, as usual, but this time she told them: “Don't approach
any stranger.”
After the school day, when María's children were leaving school, a strange man called them and invited them
to have an ice cream, and the children, innocently, and having ignored their mother's recommendation,
accepted the invitation, although with some misgivings.
Hours passed and the children did not return home, so María, very worried, decided to go look for them at
school. On the way to school, a bad feeling came over her, and when she arrived, her fear was confirmed, the
children were not there, so she immediately called the detective.
The latter began to investigate the same school, but there were no traces of the minors. Until some boys
commented that they had seen them leaving the property in the company of a man unknown to them.
Then, the researcher asked them: “What was that man like?”
And one of the companions, who drew very well, sketched the physiognomy of the passer-by.
The detective quickly began the search. After a while he found the orphaned backpacks in an alley, almost
simultaneously asking the local residents if they had seen anything, and if they knew the stranger.
At that time, a baker confirmed having seen the children passing by, along with a man unknown to the locals,
entering an abandoned house. This scene caught the baker's attention, wondering: “What were they up to?”,
but he did not see anyone leaving the property. The baker with other neighbors went to the abandoned house
and upon entering they were attacked from behind by the mysterious man. But, thanks to the baker's heroic
attitude, the children managed to escape and met their desperate mother. She took them in her arms, crying,
while the fight with the criminal continued in the house.
At that, the baker was shot and seriously injured, and eventually died.
Police personnel immediately arrived and entered the house, capturing the kidnapper, who received a life
sentence.
After this episode, the family managed to live happily ever after.
