Sometimes after one or more dental extractions the alveolus appears deformed,
forming imperfect protuberances that prevent the perfect attachment of a
removable prosthesis.

It is the surgical procedure used to remodel the

alveolar processes with the aim of achieving
greater uniformity and for the partial or complete
removable prosthesis to have a better adaptation.

As little bone as possible should be removed, since post-
exodontia remodeling involves a decrease in alveolar bone.

The regulation of the alveolar ridge consists of the
resection of irregularities of the alveolar bone that prevent
the seat and support of prostheses or that cause
ulcerations or chronic irritations in the gum with their use.

Irregularities may be due to:

Loss of several teeth or multiple extractions.
