4.1. Generalities
The electrical characteristics of each machine such as: the size, voltage levels at the primary and
secondary, Vcc%, etc., will be indicated in the SdA and/or on the single-line electrical diagram,
depending on the needs of the plant and the characteristics of the Public Distribution Network.
Transformers supplied (with equal size and voltage levels), shall be suitable for parallel (or short
parallel) operation. The criteria for operation will be defined in SdA in each case.
Power supply
The following possible auxiliary supplies will be made available:
110VDC +10% -20%, (From UPS-Vcc),
230Vac +10% -20%, f = 50Hz, (From UPS-Vac)
400/230Vac +10% -20%, f = 50 Hz.
Auxiliary equipment must ensure its operation within the ranges of said supplies.
The Supplier already at the bidding stage, should indicate the voltage level related to the required
power supplies and an estimate of the power absorbed.
Resin transformers (MV/LV and LV/LV), will be installed indoors; MV/LV and HV/LV
transformers should be suitable for outdoor installation, so the minimum air temperature value will
be -25°C.
If indicated SdA, tangential fans may be provided for forced ventilation of the machine.
In the case of mineral oil-insulated transformers, the latter must comply with current standards,
with no PCBs.
Core
The core shall be of the three-column type, shall consist of low-loss grain-oriented magnetic
laminations, insulated and cut at 45° and mounted at interspersed joints. The cutting of the
laminations shall be done by the step-lap method so as to reduce both no-load losses and
transformer noise.
At joints between columns and yokes, laminations should be properly cut to minimize leakage.
The core will need to be treated with nonhygroscopic and corrosion-resistant paints.
The core and windings should be able to withstand all possible dynamic and thermal stresses
during operation, including those caused by three-phase short circuits at the terminals.
Windings
The windings will be of the anti-resonant type and, unless otherwise stated in SdA, will be made

imbalance. Regulation will be executable through suitable terminal blocks, with the transformer
disconnected.
Compared with the nominal value, the adjustment will be ±2x2.5%.
The connections of the LV side should be soldered.
Insulation
The windings will generally be drowned in the insulating resin by autoclave pressure process, or
similar procedures. The resin used should be free of additives similar to trihydrated aluminia.
The insulating resin should be of the epoxy type; the curing process should take place under
vacuum at high temperature to allow the elimination of any gases present in the still-flowing resin.
The resin used should ensure the following main properties:
Tightness to impulse stresses;
Tightness to short-circuit stresses;
Self-extinguishing upon cessation of the cause of fire
coefficient of thermal expansion as close as possible to the coefficient of thermal expansion
of the conductors used.

earthing symbol, applied to the caisson.
Ground connections should be made with flexible copper braid of appropriate cross section.
5.1. Transport
Each individual unit will be protected against rain and dust by a polyethylene casing.
The Supplier shall ensure that handling, transportation and storage of the supplied equipment, will
comply with safety criteria, with particular attention to the way the load is lifted and secured.
6.1 Generalities
The tests in this chapter are understood to be divided into the following categories:
type tests
acceptance tests (individual)
TME reserves the right to ascertain the validity of tests not conducted at non-independent
laboratories.
It will also be at the discretion of TME to request, if necessary, the repetition of some of the type
tests already carried out and deemed valid; it is understood that such repetition will be at the
supplier's expense and at TME's expense.
Additional tests may be listed in SdA according to plant or job order needs.
The supplier, at the bidding stage, must send the PCQ (test list) for the transformer to TME for
approval.
7. GUARANTEED PERFORMANCE
The supplier shall guarantee the following performance at the rated operating value:
8. MAINTENANCE
The equipment should require little maintenance.
Under no circumstances should the equipment require scheduled maintenance with intervals of
less than 1 year.
The Supplier shall take responsibility for minimizing the risks associated with planned
maintenance activities, such as exposure to hazardous parts, accessibility, parts handling, spills,
etc.
9. TARGETS
Insulation class
Vector group winding connections
Voltage values of the steps of the variator (this reference can only be given on the variator, with
dedicated nameplate).
No. 2 transformer nameplates, minimum size 400 x 300 mm. The nameplates bearing the identification
abbreviation are made of 18/8 stainless steel, 2 mm thick with satin metal-colored embossed lettering
and edges, chemically etched bottom and oven-baked RAL 9005 black color.
Each of the above nameplates should be placed on the long sides of the transformer at a height from the
ground of about 3 meters. For the transformer nameplate, reference shall be made to subsequent notices
when finalizing the contract documents or the procurement process and approval of the graphic drawings.
In addition, each transformer must be labeled according to the requirements of the cited technical
references and marked in accordance with Directive 2009/125/EC:
"CE" marking;
EC Declaration of Conformity.
10. SPARES
Unless otherwise indicated in the SdA, spare parts, suggested by the Supplier and approved by
TME, necessary for the start-up of the plant will be an integral part of the supply; it will be the
Supplier's responsibility to submit a complete list of the relative prices of said spare parts at the
bid stage.
Attached to the bid, the Supplier shall also submit lists and prices for recommended replacement
parts for 2 and 5 years of operation.
12.1. Generalities
All work and activities related to what is supplied must be carried out according to a plan to be
developed by the supplier based on the elements communicated by TME and in accordance with
the listed reference standards.
The supplier is fully responsible for the design and must therefore take a diligent part in requesting
from TME, in a timely manner, any clarifications, missing data and documents and, in performing
the necessary checks and controls, noting any discrepancies between the documents provided.
If no deviation to the documentation delivered by TME is clearly evidenced at the bidding stage,
it will be considered fully accepted.
The degree of detail in the drawings must allow the identification of each circuit and component,
to allow both inspections and interventions for repairs and maintenance.
Listed below are the types of drawings that, in general, must be provided and developed on the
basis of a detailed design plan; TME reserves the right to specify particular requirements in the
SdA.
The documents should be written on standard TME formats and should be properly completed
according to the criteria outlined in the TME procedure.
The Supplier shall prepare the design in full compliance with this Technical Specification and shall
submit it to TME for approval prior to the start of construction.
Approval for construction will be given after the Final Customer's approval of the drawings;
therefore, the supplier must take on board any comments from the Final Customer.
The approval issued by TME to the design drawings does not imply the assumption of
responsibility by TME itself and, therefore, does not change or reduce the responsibility of the
supplier who remains fully responsible for the design entrusted to it.
The supplier must keep its own drawings (its own and third-party) up to date according to the
actual "as built" situation by increasing the edition (revision number) on its originals.
In principle, a single document (with a unique TME identification number) should be produced
for each transformer supplied, containing at least the following:
Overall and dimensional drawings (including weight and heat dissipation data)
