CASE STUDY

The case study is a research product that is characterized by specifying a search and
investigation process, as well as the systematic analysis of one or several cases. In this
sense, a case is understood as all those circumstances, situations or unique phenomena
about which more information is required or that deserve some type of interest within the
world of research.

It will be prepared in a group manner (4 to 6 members), by the students who take the
curricular experiences axis of formative research of the IV or V cycle (II level), of
Curriculum D.

Guide for preparing the case study


COVER: Includes the logo of the University, the faculty and the academic program, the
title of the case study, names of the authors and advisor(s), the ORCID code
(orcid.org/….), of each one (authors and advisors) in parentheses, the line of research (if
the research product is prepared by students from different study programs, the general
lines of research of the university are considered and if it is prepared by students from the
same study program, one of the specific lines of research of the program); Likewise, the
city of the subsidiary and the year are specified. The title is written in capital letters and
then in lower case letters; It must be clear, coherent and concise (not exceeding 20 words)
(1 page).
INDEX: The parts of the research product are shown schematically with the pages
corresponding to each of them. Only the first letter of the starting word and proper nouns is
capitalized (1 page).
I. INTRODUCTION: It is written in descriptive form where it must contain the
problem to be addressed with the theory that supports the phenomenon studied,
detailing the justification, the research design, objectives and data collection
techniques (4 to 6 pages).
II. DESCRIPTION AND ANALYSIS OF THE STUDY PHENOMENON : The
description of the case studied is presented and the case study is analyzed with the
help of the theories (2 to 3 pages).
III. CONCLUSIONS: These are the essential ideas of the case study, in response to the
stated objectives (1 page).
REFERENCES: It is the list of sources cited in the body of the case study (books,
magazines and theses; information from newspapers or others that do not have formal
citations and bibliographic references should not be considered). References consulted, but
not cited in the text, are not included in this list. References must

conform to current APA, Vancouver and ISO standards, depending on the academic program
