Subject: Physics 2 Title: Faraday's Law of Induction

MELCS/Objectives: Identify the factors that affect the magnitude of the induced emf and the magnitude
and direction of the induced current (Faraday’s Law). STEM_GP12EMIVa-1

I. Prayer - Let us begin with a prayer asking for guidance and understanding in our lesson.

II. Attendance - Take attendance to ensure all students are present.

III. Recap of the Previous Topic - Briefly review the concepts covered in the previous lesson about
Magnetic Induction and its applications.

IV. 4 A's Model

A. Abstraction - In this part of the lesson, we will be discussing Faraday's Law of Induction, which
states that a changing magnetic field induces an electromotive force (EMF) and current in conductors.
We will explore the factors that affect the magnitude of induced EMF and the magnitude and direction
of the induced current.

B. Activity - Conduct a hands-on activity where students will investigate the factors that affect the
magnitude of the induced EMF and current. Provide clear instructions on setting up the experiment and
measuring the induced values. Students will vary the strength of the magnetic field and the rate of
change of the magnetic field to observe their effects on the induced EMF and current.

C. Analysis - After conducting the activity, guide students through the analysis of their experimental
data. Help them identify the relationship between the magnetic field strength, the rate of change of the
magnetic field, and the induced EMF and current. Students will plot graphs and analyze the trends
observed in their data.

D. Application - Discuss real-world examples of Faraday's Law of Induction, such as electric

generators and transformers. Explain how the concept of induced EMF and current is applied in these

devices to generate electricity and transfer power. Discuss the importance of understanding Faraday's
Law in the development of electrical devices and technologies.

V. Reflection - Conclude the lesson with a reflective discussion, asking students to share what they have
learned about Faraday's Law of Induction and how it can be further explored and applied in different
scenarios. Encourage students to think critically about the applications of Faraday's Law in their daily
lives and how it contributes to the development of technology and society.

Rubrics for Assessment:

1. Student participation and engagement in the hands-on activity - 5 points

2. Accuracy and thoroughness of data collection and analysis - 5 points

3. Understanding of the relationship between magnetic field strength, rate of change of the magnetic
field, and induced EMF and current - 5 points

4. Ability to apply the concept of Faraday's Law of Induction to real-life examples - 5 points

5. Thoughtful reflection and contribution to the reflective discussion - 5 points
