An Italian Summer Scarf

An Italian Summer Scarf is a little scarf with a classic look, very easy to adjust in length, yarn
weight or fiber content. The pattern is straightforward, simple to memorize and quite addicting.

Pattern

First half
Cast on 6 stitches on US 6 (4 mm) circular needles.

Starting with Row 1 (WS), work as follows:

Row 1-9 knit to last 2 sts, slip last 2 sts purlwise wyif
Row 10 (RS) k2, yo, k1, repeat [yo, k2tog] until last 3 sts,
yo, k1, slip last 2 sts purlwise wyif (+2 sts)

Repeat Rows 1-10 until you’ve used almost half of your yarn (or until you’re happy with the
length). This is the midway point of your scarf.

Tip

If you’ve lost count of your row number, to determine whether it’s time to knit another Row
10, observe your work and count how many “garter bump” rows you have created since your
last eyelet row: if you count 5 of them, it means it’s time to knit another Row 10.
