Choice of a Research Question and Justification:

Research Question: To what extent did Quli Qutub Shah’s contributions shape

Hyderabad’s history and culture during his rule?

SOI: Over a period, the diversity of a place has an impact on identity formation

I chose this Question because I already have some prior knowledge about Quli Qutub Shah and I

find this Question really interesting.

This Question is related to the SOI because the SOI says that over a period, the diversity of a

place has an impact on identity formation and in the Question, it says that to what extent did

Quli Qutub Shah’s contributions shape Hyderabad’s history and culture during his

rule? In these, there is a connection because in the SOI there is a Word Diversity which

is connected to Quli Qutub Shah because he has made many changes to make

Hyderabad Diverse without anyone fighting and with everyone living together. There is

another connection between the word Identity Formation and Hyderabad these 2 are

connected because Quli Qutub Shah made Hyderabad such a beautiful place and now

because of him we have such an Important Identity in India. Our city is famous for its

beautiful Monuments and Identity. Quli Qutub Shah also found the city of Hyderabad,
in South-central India and built its architectural centerpiece, the Charminar, patronize

the Telugu language and culture, Made Golconda Fort, Charminar and the Qutb Shahi

tombs, Expansive mosques and palaces built out of granite. Inscriptions including

Persian poetry and verses from the Quran. Heavy stucco ornamental work and jali

latticed screens.
