Proposed AESS system is designed based on dual three
phase output permanent magnet based synchronous
alternator & three phase driving motor. Whole alternator
rotor assembly is kept in a vacuum chamber to reduce the
windage losses and noise. In the proposed configuration,
alternator rotor’s rotation axis is vertical in place of Fig.2: Alternator Configuration

IV. DESIGN, & SIMULATION OF ALTERNATOR

Simulation results are shown from Fig.4 to Fig.17 with

volts to 635 volts. Fig.12, Fig.13 & Fig.14 shows the power
delivered to the load whereas Fig.15 & Fig.16 shows the flux
lines and flux density in whole alternator machine. Fig.17
shows the speed variation of the alternator.

V. CONCLUSION
Alternator having dual three phase winding is designed to
deliver electrical power 10 MVA, 10000 Amps for 0.6
second operation. Alternator based ESS Design, &
Simulation for EMLS application has been presented. From
the simulation study, it is verified that designed alternator
can deliver 10 MVA power for 0.6 second. Speed of
alternator falls from 3000 rpm to 2430 rpm and voltage falls
710 Volts to 636 Volts while delivering the power. However,
