Automatic control or feedback command systems have played an increasingly important role in the development of
modern technology. Control theory is the technical tool on which its study is based.

Automatic control systems fundamentally deal with the study of the control of the variables that intervene in industrial
systems, such as: Voltage, Current, Power, Temperature, Pressure, Frequency, Fluids, Density, Time, etc., therefore, This
subject is important in the academic training of the Electrical Engineer.
The subjects focus on the studies of control systems whose mathematical models are described in terms of linear
differential equations, and their program can be divided into three main parts: Modeling, Analysis and Basic aspects in the
program.
To take the subject, Physics, Electrical Circuits, Mechanics at an introductory level and Differential Equations are basically
required. The topic of the Laplace transform, due to its importance for the course, is included in its basic aspects in the
program.
The antecedent to this signature is Mathematics III and the subsequent ones with Distribution Networks, Applied
Computing, Industrial Control and Electrical Traction Systems.
The student will apply the mathematical bases to design models of physical systems using differential equations, transfer
functions, as well as their graphic representation through block diagrams, will analyze systems in stable and transient
states, emphasizing the concepts of stability, precision and response time.
The student will identify the basic concepts for the study of automatic or feedback control systems.
EVALUATION PROCEDURE
The student will design mathematical models that fairly represent the behavior of physical systems.
