Title: Keeping up
• Standard: My spelling is acceptable, although I make mistakes on words I don't use often.
• I understand short texts of some difficulty about daily activities, of my interest, about others
subjects and my social environment.
Purpose: The purpose of this workshop is to keep students in constant practice of the vocabulary and
structures seen in guide 1.
Do the proposed exercises and write them in your notebook/answer sheet. Translate when
instructed, otherwise you should only do the exercise in English (you do not need to write the
translation)
a) Read the following text, write the translation in your notebook and/or worksheet. Then associate the
titles of the numbers 1,2 and 3 with the letters a,b,c.
a. Eat a balanced diet that includes fruits and vegetables. Avoid sugars and starches. Cut out fast foods.
Drink lots of water.
b. Develop the habit of doing physical activities you enjoy: eg running, swimming, or riding a bike. Get
enough sleep: your body needs eight hours of sleep a night.
c. Have a shower every day. Wash your hair regularly. Brush your teeth twice a day. Keep your nails short:
fingers and toes!

b) Once you have done the previous point, you know what topic the exercise was about. Now, classify
the vocabulary and expressions according to the categories. Diet (diet), rest (rest), exercise (Exercise)
and healthy habits and routines (Healthy habits & routines). Look at the examples in the table. You
must do this exercise only in English.
c) Read the following text and associate. Numbers (Nutrient) with letters (Types of food) Make the
translation in your notebook/answer sheet.
d) Look at the example, then complete the table by putting in each box at least one of the things you
can and cannot do as the case may be. Remember Can (can / can) Can't (can't). In the column I want
to learn to write what you don't know but would like to learn to do. You should only do this activity in
English in your notebook/answer sheet.

e) Using old newspapers or magazines, markers or colored pencils, and a large sheet of paper, design
a slogan in English inviting others to live a healthy life. The best ones will be displayed in the WhatsApp
groups.
