JOB DESCRIPTION AND QUALIFICATION

PHLEBOTOMIST / LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

A. TECHNINICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

1. Drawing blood from patients (geriatrics and pediatrics).


2. Assembling equipment, such as tourniquet, needles, disposable containers for needles, blood
collection devices, gauze, cotton, and alcohol on work tray, according to requirements for
specified tests or procedures.
3. Perform home service blood extraction.
4. Work with sensitive patient cases in a confident manner.
5. Maintaining safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures
and complying with legal regulations.
6. Verifying and recording identity of patients prior to blood drawing.

B. ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performing laboratory computer operations such as encoding / typing and printing of results to
be submitted to quality control officer.
